Adam Roop Made His Choices For Tomorrow's Election

Hi Joe,

Adam R tagged you in a post.

Adam R wrote: "Citizens of Salisbury: Young and old...you have a very important decision to make tomorrow at the polls. After researching both sides of the spectrum, i have decided to vote for Joe Albero for Mayor, Campbell and Polk for council. Some of you may say, Adam, why didn't you vote for Day? He's our age, he will bring a young renewed outlook to Salisbury, he will get rid of old politcs, he is your friend. And my answer to that is he supports our current Mayor Jim Ireton. Salisbury, we cannot have a repeat of the last 4 years! Seriously. Current Mayor Jim Ireton has insulted Salisbury's reputation. If you don't agree with me, google him and watch some of his videos and antics. Jim Ireton is far from a Leader. He has divided the council and divided our citizens. Instead of promoting Salisbury as a welcoming place to live and play, all we hear from Jim Ireton is name calling, public displays of immaturity and an ignorance to getting along with others. Like I have said before, I voted for Jim Ireton 4 years ago. But I will not be voting for him tomorrow. I will be voting for Joe Albero.

I wish the best for Jake Day, as I like him as a person. But again, his partnership with Jim Ireton has pushed me away from any endorsement I could have given him. I think Jake has been played as a puppet by Ireton and I saw a picture of them together recently with signs and supporters. There is no way I can vote for someone who supports the unprofessionalism of Jim Ireton. I know some of you will say the same about Joe Albero, but Joe Albero has exposed the old politics and the lies of Salisbury. Most of the time, we as human beings, don't want to hear the truth. And that is why some of you think negatively towards Albero...because he exposes people. But to be honest, honesty is what Salisbury has needed. Joe Alber knows more about Salisbury, MD than most of it's own citizens. He has given to charities and helped many of our citizens raise money for their needs. He has the right vision for Salisbury. Debbie Campbell has been a conservative Salisbury has needed over the years and has done nothing to loose her seat. Ireton has painted her as the "villan" in order to turn you against her at the polls. However, know that she also has the best interest for Salisbury, and more importantly, she has the knowledge and experience we need right now in 2013. Day might be better suited for a later run at the Council, but for now, Salisbury is in trouble. And we can't wait any longer to dig ourselves out. It must happen now. We cannot afford to postpone this any longer. Because if we vote a divided council, that is just what we'll get.

I don't have a long drawn out article or anything like that this time. The point to this post is to vote for the right team. I could care less if you agree with me or not, or don't use my business because of our differences in votes. I could care less if you call me names. I could care less what you think about me on a personal level. Because on Wednesday Salisbury will still have it's problems...and I just hope you make the right vote, because if not, there will be a lot of people moving to Worcester County.

See you at the polls."

Thank you, Adam. You see the light.

When did youth and inexperience seem more desirable in a city leader than PROVEN ability, PROVEN fiscal responsibility, PROVEN integrity, PROVEN cost savings to the city and taxpayer, PROVEN support of the Police and city worker--how could there even be a doubt that Debbie Campbell is the saviour of the city taxpayer? Shame on you Salisbury District 2 if you vote for a dishonest corrupt and inexperienced "community organizer" like Jake Day. Voting for Day is like a vote for Barrie Tilghman, Mike Dunn, and Louise Smith.

I am Jake Days age too and will not be voting for him. Salisbury needs experienced political anf business leaders to help pull us out of this mess. Albero, Campbell and Polk will make a powerful team and earn the council consenses needed to make good and rational decisions this city needs.

Who is Adam Roop?

James (Jim) P. Ireton, Jr. is an American politician, who was elected the mayor of Salisbury, Maryland in a municipal election on April 7, 2009. Ireton assumed office on April 20, 2009. He is the city's first openly gay mayor.[1]
Ireton was elected with 58% of the vote, while his opponent Gary Comegys earned 41% of the vote. There were 2,647 votes cast in the election, 21% of the registered voters in Salisbury, MD. Ireton ran on a platform of transparency in government, reducing crime, cleaning up the Wicomico River, and revitalizing Salisbury neighborhoods.[2]
Ireton's office has three goals which guide their work: improving neighborhood integrity, crime reduction, and improving the health of the Wicomico River.[3]

See Debbie Campbell's explanatory video for reasons not to vote for Jake Day:

I do not know any of the people running in the city election. I don't even live in the city limits so I cannot vote. However, I feel very sorry for what the city will be if Albero and Campbell do not win this election. Debbie Campbell researches and thinks thru everything for the good of the city. Jim Ireton is not a leader and has made a mess!
As for the other 3 this is the way I see it.......Shanie has proven she has no brain and is not worthy of being there. April appears arrogant and that council surely does not need that. Polk is not much of a speaker but I think she has the best interest of the people of Salisbury at heart. Well that's my two cents from outside looking in. The most important thing is please go vote!!!!

Jake Day just wants to be or look important. He snuggles up to Mike Dunn, Louise Smith, Barrie Tilghman and the rest of that useless bunch. They were voted out so now they are trying to get someone in who's strings they can pull which would be Day> don't fall for this.

Also remember ...if Day gets in there it will mean Laura Mitchell(God help us) would be president. Are you ready for that ???????

I am also Jake Day's age. I along with Adam Roop and many others, will not be jumping on the band waggon and the hype. I like Jake Day personally but not for council, not now. We need real leadership now. Albero and Campbell have what Salisbury needs right now! Vote Albero/Campbell/Polk

Adam. You might wish to look at the number of people moving to Delmar Delaware. It is a business friendly state and much less expensive to live there since O'Malley and the democrats have added or increased 37 different taxes.

Can I ask a question,
outside of giving his opinion, which he is entitled to, what group does he represent, or what weight is carried by Adam Roop to make his endorsement something to be sought?

I am not a resident therefore may not vote. I grew up on the shore and currently work in Salisbury. I think I, like most people, want Salisbury to return to the place that we fondly remember as kids. But we have to stop treating elections like a sporting event. it's my candidate or bust. total polarization. everyone is entitled to choose which person they want and enthusiastically support that candidate. but don't just pick someone on the basis of popularity. do research. read. ask questions. don't choose someone based on what someone else says. or believe what they say without checking out the facts. use your own brain. in the end, saying you won or lost or your candidate was elected so you win or the opponent was elected and therefore they are a jerk doesn't solve the problems that are enormous. finally, in the last election for mayor only 21% voted. really? out of every 5 registered voters only 1 actually took the time to vote. 2,647 total votes. some for and some against. so the winner got less than the 2,647. quit lying to yourselves and everyone else too. all of you people that comment in the Daily Times or on SBYNEWS(some days 10,000 hits) and speak of politics at bars, restaurants, the gym, and church. you are dishonest. and you have no right to even speak about Salisbury politics. if you can't take the time and effort to actually vote, you have no right to cheer or jeer the events that will follow the election or the direction that Salisbury will soon be headed.
good luck to all candidates and thank you for all of your hard work and efforts to help shape and guide Salisbury.

Hey Jarred Bernstein 10:58 am didn't I see you as a friend on Jake Day's Facebook page? Troll!

Anon 11:50 I'm pretty sure they are the same age and probably went to school together. Who's the troll now?

I'm not sure what the troll comments are all about, I would be a troll if I had posted this cowardly as Anonymous.

A lot of people respect Adam Roop because he is a young successful businessman, but humble and kind.

He has witnessed first hand Jim Ireton's embarrassment of this city as the immature mayor threw his temper tantrums at meetings.

Adam Roop also considered running for mayor. Not sure why he didn't, but likely put his business first or decided he wasn't a politician. You'd have to ask him.

What is for sure is Adam Roop is a gentleman, unlike Ireton, and after hearing Jake Day bad mouthing the council while claiming he would work with them, I question whether Day can wear that title, either. Day thinks Ireton is a great mayor. That's all anyone needs to know to not support him.
