DAD: THIS PICTURE OF MY SON HOLDING A GUN TRIGGERED A VISIT FROM NJ POLICE, FAMILY SERVICES

Did this photograph spark a police action that tried to enter a New Jersey home without a warrant? That’s the story being told on a website dedicated to “Open Carry” in the state of Delaware. The title of the story, “The fight has officially been brought to my front door.”

Time for a lawsuit. The police should of told DYFS they had no right to enter the home. At the homeowners request the food should have arested DYFS for trespassing.

I totally agree, they needed to be investigated.

Investigated for what? Everything there was legal! I'm old and slow, and if this 11 to is able to outrun and out shoot to protect me, well, I'd gladly be the adult in charge!

It's Child Services committing the crime here.

Kudos to the father for standing his ground. I have hunted since I was 10 years old, and knew how to handle a gun long before that. My son will also know how to handle a gun safely and in the proper manner when he gets older. I live in Maryland and I can bet these kind of stories will be surfacing more often now that all of the new BS gun laws have been put into effect. I will go to jail before I lose my rights as a citizen.

I agree alex. It was great parenting! Notice how his finger is not on the trigger? This is the proper way to hold the gun.

Great job!

Alex, it is responsible parenting!
Teaching your child not to be a progressive democrat pansy is a very responsible thing to do.
More parents should endeavor to be such great role models.

Alex/1:37 Like you would know. With your ignorance and intolerance I hope you are not a parent.

3:06 Pansy is your word of the day? You sound like an idiot.

I do not think the DYFS agent would have walked away from my house if they had forced their way in.

Some day these Nazi stormtroopers are going to bust into the wrong house, and then they will get what they deserve.

The gun is a simple .22lr, but since it's black and looks like a military weapon, it's so scary.

I'm glad I don't live in the city, and can enjoy my firearms, responsibly, WITH my children.

This is such BS you would have to lock up half the countries parents that teach there kids/teenagers gun safety,MORON MEDIA.

My dad gave me a shotgun, a single shot .410, when I was nine. Showed me how to use it, clean it, and be safe. Most other boys I knew also knew how to use a gun. NONE of us killed anyone, grew up to be criminals, or ever injured ourselves. Now, sissy girlie-boys shake with fright at the sight of a kid with a gun. Go hide in the closet (you know what I'm sayin', dontcha, Alexis? Keep your fright to yourself. And I can't see how those storm troopers ever got out of there alive. The guy must have a LOT of patience. Police USED to be role models. Now they are just the strongarm muscle for the governmment, putting the hammer down on citizens that haven't broken a single law. He should have dropped them. Without warning. Just like they were prepared to drop HIM.

I have a son who is eleven and loves to hunt with his Father - Does that make us bad parents! No, We teach our kids how to use and respect guns!!!

Imclain,
I have read many of your comments here in this blog, I cant say that i usually agree with you, but your arguments are always well thought out and well written.
While i certainly see your point here (nothing wrong with this child holding a legal firearm in a safe, responsible manner). I think your response may have been clouded by your hatred of Police, or you failed to read the entire article..

Taken directly from link in story.

"The four police officers acted professionally, they were there at the request of DYFS."

No where in this story does it say the Police forced entry into this man's home... Had the homeowner called in reference to DYFS attempting to enter his home illegally the Police would have been there AT HIS REQUEST.

Don't hate so much man.. not everyone is after you..

This is just one more case of Obamahead Dems overstepping their boundaries.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for what this man did to preserve his rights and I'm tatally against what DYFS did to this family AND I'm REALLY against the cops for even accompanying this a$$hole to the house but, if all you Facebookers ain't gonna learn not to put your whole lives out on the net.., this is the kind of repercussions you're going to have to expect.

Ah, 1007, you are COMPLETELY wrong here. When 4 LEO's allowed the child services person to illegally enter, they became illegally aiding and abetting thugs. It was their job to ENFORCE THE LAW, which they did not.

10:07...thanks for the comment. I have been called a lot of things in my life, but "coward" is a first. I don't hate the police. I've said before that they ARE a necessity in society. My complaint with them (shared by MILLIONS) is that they no longer SERVE the public, but INTIMDATE and RULE the public and "serve" as a revenue enhancement tool and are happily complicit in that endeavor. They severely abuse the authority given to them (by us, "we, the people") and is documented by thousands and thousands of court cases, police video, and YouTube video taken by citizens. The mere fact that police went there (to back up ANOTHER government agency who thinks they rule us and have unlimited authority) with NO evidence of ANY crime should alarm free thinking people. Lastly, my brother, I'm NOT afraid of ANYONE coming for me...but those "coming for me" ought to be VERY afraid. If there is no evidence of me committing a crime, I would urge the storm troopers (or other criminals) to go get some donuts and leave me alone. For their own sake. imclaim, you have been called a coward many times. They usually wont post any comments that call you out. You are a coward that hides behind a keyboard. You hate people because of their appearance, and threaten to kill people on here daily. You obviously have MENTAL ISSUES (I can use the caps lock key too.)
If all cops are evil, then by your standards all soldiers must be evil too. This is because a very small percentage of soldiers kill innocent people during each conflict, therefore they are all evil killers of children. You can not lump all people, who happen to have a similar job together. There are good and bad in each profession. If you want to change laws, get your coward self out from behind the keyboard, and run for office.
