100 Years Of U.S. Federal Income Tax

On February 3rd, 1913, one of the two most historic events in US history took place: the ratification of the 16th amendment, which established Congress' right to impose a Federal income tax on Americans, and overturned Article I, Section 9 of the US Constitution which explicitly prohibited a general income tax. The amendment was brief and to the point, and read as follows: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." And with that, the US Federal Income Tax was born and has been with us for precisely 100 years.

the ratification of the 16th amendment,

Well 7:30 beat me to it but he is correct.

There is no law that says we must pay income tax.

It is a complete fraud and one of the biggest hoaxes perpetrated by the U.S. government.

It wasn't that long ago I was reading about this and watching videos of how this is illegal.

BUT, if you get targetted by the I.R.S., you will needs lots of money to prevail against them.

All you have to do is ask them to show you the law requiring you to file and pay income taxes.

Of course, they can't. So unless you have done something illegal related to it, you will walk.

But please, don't take my word for it. Research it yourselves.

I wonder what the Obama nit wits think of the IRS just hiring 16,000 new "agents"?
They will get "their" money from you.
It has to stop.

The first top tax rate in 1913 was 7%. The government said that was a small price to pay for the common good and don't worry about the rates going up. Everybody reluctantly agreed. Now the top rate is over 39% and with the democrats in power I'm sure that will go up.
