Hours after announcing a $29 million settlement over its drink voucher program, Southwest Airlines revealed plans to add $300 million in new and increased fees, along with a policy change that will certainly irk some frequent Southwest travelers.

When I travel I take a carry on bag and MAIL the remainder. Even mail a couple of days ahead of time so it gets there when I do.
Only take what you will need not stuff you will not even wear or use.
Money saved problem solved.
Southwest has no assigned seating so it's first come first sat.
If checking bag, it's free if under 50 lbs. I don't know about a second bag unless they are counting your carry on as the second.
These are the old 'rules'.
So I guess if you are over 50lbs on a bag you will be charged more than the current 50 dollars.
