Maryland health officials reported the first hypothermia-related death of the winter Thursday.
The man died in Frederick County and was at least 65 years old. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the cause of his death during the past week.
State health officials released no other details.
Fifteen hypothermia-related deaths were reported last winter. One death had been reported by this time in December 2011, according to the medical examiner's office.
With winds gusting Thursday and another round of snow headed for the region this weekend, health officials remind Marylanders to bundle up before heading outside.

Are the "health officials" THAT stupid as to suggest that we "bundle up" before going outside? Do they really think this guy didn't "bundle up"? And that he stayed outside just so he could die? That he just left the comfort of his mansion in Potomac and lingered a bit too long outside? Many people have reached the point of choosing between food and heat. Medicine or electricity. But our rich "leaders" think that everything is peachy and we can AFFORD more taxes, fines, fees, and surcharges --- not to help citizens, but to mainly support their lavish and grossly indulgent lifestyles, benefits, travel, and "security". Lots and lots of security. They KNOW "we, the people" are simmering in anger and they're gonna need all the security they can buy. Or tax us for....
Watched a homeless man launch a brick through a window wait for the cops just to go to jail to be warm and feed.damn shame. Folks if your homeless and reading this from a library while trying to keep warm....please do the same.
