Mother May Have Stopped Child Abduction: Police Looking For White Escalade

CAMBRIDGE — Cambridge Police are seeking the public’s help in its investigation of a reported suspicious circumstance and advice parents and caregivers to keep a watchful eye on their children.

According to Cambridge Police Lt. Mark K. Lewis, police were called to Insley Street and Kent Street at about 3 p.m. on Sept. 30, after a mother reported a couple in a white Cadillac Escalade asked her daughter and a friend to get in their vehicle.

The unidentified mother said she was watching her 7-year-old daughter and her friend walking on Insley Street towards Kent Street when the white Escalade stopped and the intersection near the two girls.

The woman described the occupants of the SUV as an, “older white male driver and older white female front passenger,” said Lt. Lewis.

Suspecting something was wrong, the woman began walking toward her daughter.

The white Cadillac Escalade then drove away.

I just heard they found the Escalade and it turns out this was not what they thought it was. No harm was intended.
