A viral video of an Obama supporter touting her “Obama phone” has put the spotlight on an obscure federal program that provides discounted phone service to qualifying low-income Americans.
“Keep Obama as president,” the animated woman says on the video. “He gave us a phone.”
The video is drawing attention to the government program — Lifeline — as a national debate unfolds on entitlements and the growing percentage of Americans who pay no income taxes and get a long menu of government benefits. But even though some beneficiaries may credit President Obama for providing the phones, Lifeline is an extension of a program that has existed since 1985. Still, critics including Rep. Tim Griffin, R-Ark., note the program has swelled from $772 million in 2008 to $1.6 billion.

Types like this woman and ACORN are the only reason Obama won. ACORN made it a mission to register people like this. They put free this, free that, thoughts into their heads and made sure they went and voted. The word free is the only thing that resonates with this type. Between targeting these types and having democratically controlled states pass laws allowing felons to vote is how obama got elected.
They knew there would not be enough people stupid enough to vote for obama otherwise.

Actually, I have to admit that she is one of the more articulate Obama supporters that I've encountered.
Word is she and about 50 others were bused around Ohio, to each of Romney's stops. As to the phone, I know of individuals who have up to four of these phones, You get bonus minutes over the 250 free ones if you find and assist someone to sign up for the program. These aren't just old flip phones, many are blackberries and early smart phones. They are entirely free, just like the "Independence" cards!
I saw where these people were part of a group taken around to Romney campaign stops. You would think the obama campaign would try and focus on finding more refined people to represent him. That wouldn't work though because obama knows that the 47% more identify with this woman than someone higher up on the intelligence scale.
And the other thing? These were paid protesters to shadow Romney's appearances in Ohio.
1.6 BILLION (!!) on cell phones for chronically unemployed, welfare sucking high school dropouts with no hope of EVER being productive or employed? PLEASE don't call' em "free". There isn't a 1.6 billion dollar price tag on anything "free' that I ever heard of....our "leaders" have led us down a path so fiscally horrible that soon we will be paying "interest only" on our multi-trillion dollar debt. but we still have enough borrowed money to give out cell phones? Has anyone ever researched just how many JOBS (the stated reason) these losers have found with their "free" cell phone?
Aren't these the phones collected from phone stores where upgraded phones are purchased. I never gave them my old phone because I never knew where they went with personal information. I have a box of old phones
Two thing must happen in this Country:
-You must pass a drug test before applying for any assistance whatsoever. And then continue drug testing while on any assistance.
-If you do receive any assistance; you lose the privelege to vote (as it is a conflict)
These two things alone will solve a lot of problems.
well maybe now that we are going to have death panels due to obama care, maybe we can get it to include these non productive never have a hope of getting a job individuals so the government can start rationing what little funds they have left!
let's see I worked all my life and paid taxes but I can't get the operation I may need cause I am no longer a productive member of society but these freeloading non productive members can continue to breed and suck off the rest of society?

I saw her at the Democratic Headquarters here on the Shore giving out signs and telling everybody how good Obama Care will be for her!
The post stated that the phone service was discounted.That sounds incorrect.It sounds more like all was free.
