Comptroller Pratt Refuses To Apologize To Mayor

Baltimore City Comptroller Joan Pratt has refused to apologize to Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake over accusations that the Mayor and her Office of Information Technology have violated the city procurement process by purchasing more than $650,000 in telephone equipment.

Mayor Rawlings-Blake had requested an apology from Pratt. Comptroller Pratt, on Maryland's News Now, said "absolutely not, absolutely not." Pratt told WBAL Radio Tuesday that she has more evidence than what has been given to the public that the administration has violated the procurement process of Baltimore City.

Pratt went on to say that as of July of last year, the administration spent more than $9 Million dollars on expenditures and has spent about $200,000 a month since then. Pratt went on to say that the Rawlings-Blake administration is going to ask for a contract for another $2 million expenditure at the Baltimore City Board of Estimates meeting Wednesday.
