Who's The Clown Here?

My vote goes to the Salisbury City Council for being No. 1 in the clown department.

They have overspent their budget for attorneys' fees, refuse to cooperate with the mayor on anything and appear to need legal advice on even mundane issues.

The clowns in Ocean City don't come close.

I guess you get what you vote for, but looking at the numbers, not many in the city bother going to the polls -- which is exactly what this Council wants to maintain; hence, the fight over redistricting.

City Attorney Mark Tilghman seems to have discovered a never-ending need for his services -- the main reason this council needs more money for their legal fees.

Ain't life grand?

Dear Joan,

You don't have a clue , Eden MD. produces idiots.

Ms Seiler is 100% correct, I have thought for some time our city council was Comedy Central. They post meetings, change the posting to a work session, rearrange agendas, turn the work sessions back into meetings, hire lawyers, call lawyers, get billed by lawyers, and when all is said and done they have no idea if they were to a meeting, or a work session, on the phone with a lawyer, in a lawyer's office. The only thing that whole bunch knows how to do is disagree on everything. The accomplish nothing council is a joke, so I would agree - they are clowns.

Being from Ocean City I see Salisbury has the same problem we are experiencing.
We finally in OC have a council majority that looks out for everyone including tax payers who are not voters. As in Salisbury they are met with resistance every step of the way.
Both of these towns minority councils are in bed with some group or some organization that clouds their opinions and judgement and most importantly their votes.

Joe:

Any update on that secret and unannounced meeting they held in Ocean City a few days back?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Mrs. Seiler,
You are such a liberal! Go back to Montgomery County where you came from. Enough said!!!!

And, by the way, you don't even live in the City of Salisbury. Why are you butting in where you don't belong?

This 74 year old Salisbury non-resident will soon get the opportunity to eat her words.

How about Mayor Ireton? In his latest idiot move he is requesting a 24% raise for Lore Chambers and raises for HIS WHOLE STAFF! Meanwhile the rest of the city workers from trash to accounting to HR will get ANOTHER PAY CUT!

You have good pulling against the bad---no comprimise---nothing accomplished.

Many of lawsuits against the city have been sitting idle since Paul Wilber was the city attorney.

The public just hasn't been privy to the many lawsuits against the city, because it was always kept in private, between the mayor and Paul Wilber.

Now that the city council has been made aware of these other issues, they are addressing them as they should be, not swept under the rug like Barrie and Jim Beau tried to do for so long. All legal matters are discussed in closed session Joan, get back under your rock!

Handing Wilber his pink slip was the best thing that could happen for this city. Have you forgotten the promises by Jimmy?

Transparency in government? You can thank the city council majority for that, the cost is what it is, the council majority isn't sueing the city, they are trying to get past all the lawsuits and do the citys work too!

What is Joan Seiler's agenda and who is she shilling for? She lives in Eden, not Salisbury.

If she paid any attention to the meetings on PAC14, she'd know her claims are untrue.

Out with it, lady. Who are you shilling for?

You can find the request for a 3 step increase in the Mayor's budget that he sent to city council. Check the city website or see the hardcopy at the library.

Joe- I request you put up a link to it.

Note: each step is 8%.
