Three children have been rescued from a burning home in Baltimore.
Firefighters were called to the home on West Lexington Street around
2:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a fire and people trapped inside. While
some firefighters battled the flames, fire department spokesman Chief
Kevin Cartwright says others searched the home and found three children.

West Lexington St? No doubt a row house surely built prior to 1950 but probably closer to 1900.
Another example of fires in older residences being more likely. Now if all those in favor of mandated residential sprinker systems were sincere about saving lives this is where the mandate should start.
Wouldn't that be the common sense approach and the way to truly save lives?
Instead of ranting about sprinkler systems...how about a good comment for the firefighters there and here.everyone here blasts these guys and never get any thanks or respect from anyone until theyre needed.
Good job to those guys.way to risk your lives in an old crumbling building and save three young lives.and good job to the local firefighters.who risk their lives their family lives and do it for free.
No one was ranting 1:02.....except for you.
Now how around answering the question.
If the goal of residential fire sprinker systems is to truly prevent the loss of life and propety wouldn't it make a heck of a lot more sense to start with older building?
I don't expect a "yes it would" answer since 99% of people associated with the government as either a politician or an employee are brainwashed sheeple who follow trends mindlessly.
Matter of fact mr ranter.old buildings have to be equipped when renovated.
And I am totally against sprinklers being mandated.I feel if a person breaks their back for their home the should be able to have a junk yard if they want.
Thus was a stiry about firefighters saving children's lives.not about the sprinkler mandate wich makes you the mad ranter my friend.
You need a reality check my friend.
