TAVARES — A flag depicting an image of President Barack Obama was taken down from Lake County Democratic Party headquarters today after several veterans complained it was a "desecration."
A short confrontation at the Democratic office ended when party chairwoman Nancy Hurlbert took down the controversial flag, which had been flying under an American flag on the same flagpole.
"It's a cult of personality to show his face, like Stalin or Mao," said John Masterjohn, a former Marine and retired schoolteacher from Leesburg. "It's despicable. They don't realize how sick they are."
But Hurlbert said it was the first time that anyone had complained about the flag, which was given as a gift and had been flying for several months without any response from the public.
"I was surprised," she said after taking down the flag. "No one had called us. We have a phone."

This is very scary. These Democrats are lemmings and they are allowing this to turn into a Communist country. If true Americans were smart they would start preparing to exercise the Second Amendment. Stock up now!
They allow that idiot to desecrate the Constitution so there is no difference in allowing him to desecrate the U.S. flag.
Most Americans are weak and soft hearted liberals. This country will be toast if he gets re-elected. Even many Republicans think he is a Christian because "he says he is." Anyone with any brains would know he is pro-Islam and his goal is to make this a Muslim Nation.
Next thing you know, they will be blaming this on Bush as well.

Technically, it's no more the U.S. flag than the stars and stripes shirt my wife wears for July 4 and I suppose we ought to call it Free Speech.
But I don't like it.
And not because I dislike Obama. He's no worse than Bush. Not any better, either.
Sad to say, I'm considering not voting this year. First time ever. But I'm tired of voting for Lester O. TwoEvils.

9:12 pm : I understand your frustration but the answer is not to stay home, but to vote against every single incumbent. The Powers That Be in this country are counting on our apathy at the polls. This is why they can and do pass laws that erode our constitutional rights while at the same time create an environment that will increase their personal wealth.
