A Comment Worthy Of A Post 2-1-12

Dear Joe,

Whoever said the WCBOE is a sham is correct. Our kid spent 3 years working toward a degree in education and then spent an additional semester working as a student teacher - which incidentally he had to pay for as if he were actually taking up a seat at UMES. It wasn't until we spent a fortune in educational costs was he exposed in his final semester to the real inner workings of the educational system and the fact that all integrity and the best interest of the children is thrown in the trash can in the name of state and federal funding. The damage done and the elimination of educational opportunities to those students who actually can learn is astronomical. All in the name of money. The education or our youth is being compromised by the desire for more money by an appointed BOE and the hand licking administration starting with Fredericksen. Start at the top. We need an elected school board. We need more local control over our childrens educations. We need to learn to live within our means, and we need to get rid of Fredericksen. The hand lickers will fall in line in much the same way they've fallen in line with the current administration. We need to start this now. The elected BOE has been diluted and then put on the back burner. Let's get it moving again. We need a meeting with our county council. Then we need a seperate meeting with our delegates. We need to get this thing to referendum if we have to and get the delegates to support our position on the state level.

If you truly want this to happen then you need to vote for Ron Paul. No other candidate will help you.

An elected Board will have the advantage that members can be voted out. As it is now, a person who does nothing can write a letter to the governor and get reappointed for more years to do nothing.

Is this supposed to be surprising though? We left these people in control of themselves and the money, do you not think that human beings, in general, are selfish? Of course they are doing whatever it takes to get more money because money makes the world go around. Who cares if these kids get a good education or if they are even safe at school, as long as the school is appeasing to the eye and looks up to date no one cares. This has been going on for years....I for one was a student in a local public school until I graduated and headed to college. Let me tell you that the education requirements do not help you at all to plan for college. High School is a joke, you do nothing and get grades for it that will never help your future. Something needs to be done.

It would be nice if this comment actually gave any example of wrong doing or unethical practices of the BOE. The only actual example you give is that your son had to pay for college and a degree...Hmm, pointless post.

An elected School Board? HMMMMM...... Maybe we will have as much success with them as we do with our elected City Council!
I wonder what drama they will come up with next?

If your boss threatened and bullied many of the people in your company, and didn't tell the truth to customers, would you risk telling his bosses if you knew they approve of everything he does?

Sham indeed. There are many of us who can give details of wrong. For some of us wronged, we are involved in civil suits and are not free to share our complete story. There are many violations by the superintendent and other central staff as well as principals and program directors. Keep the letters going to the governor,Ron Willey, sbynews, elected officials Carolyn Elmore, Michelle Wright, Chase, Bly and Dodd. Plan to pack the board room on February 14. Or we ALL could ask to be put on the agenda.

4:58 the post referred to another post put up earlier that provided more than enough examples of unethical behavior at the cost of real educational opportunities in exchange for federal and state dollars. You must be a BOE employee who supports this behavior. How do you possibly sleep at night knowing you pass off misinformation as truth to the parents of these school kids? A day is coming very soon where all will be held accountable for this non-sense.
