He clearly states he is mentally ill in his letter; it is obvious he is suffering from delusions; the imbedded news reports would have plastered these atrocities all over if they were true. The Liberal media has no love for the troops in the field; they criticize their every move and blast the Bush administration whenever they can.
My own son was there in 2005 for a whole year, and again in 2007 for 15 months, on every “Mission” they went on, they were shot at and put in harm’s way. Many times it was teenagers being paid to shoot at them or set up a “Frozen Mortar round” to fire into their FOB.
The truth is, “War is Hell”, and innocent people get killed in it, along with the bad guys. Sometimes the bad guys put good people in harm’s way to avoid being killed. My son was being trained at Fort Stewart to shoot anyone that is in the home after they entered if someone was firing at them, anyone, women, children, old people, anyone. A few times, insurgents would do actually that, they would hide behind their women and kids to kill our guys!
Then there are the nuts that load the car up with the family and a big shell in the car to kill our guys at a checkpoint, Allah will welcome them all after it is detonated! The Muslim religion and the Iraqi culture teaches that all women are nothing and killing the enemy is the most important thing to do, even if you have to kill innocent people to do it. So loading up the family for a Sunday drive to blow up US soldiers is an outing that is praised.
These people are not like us, they are conditioned to hate us and want to kill us, because we are free to think and do pretty much what we want here in America. We are not Muslims, so we must be killed, according to the Koran.
Yes, the photos are gruesome, and bloody, but you should see the photo’s of the Coalition troops that were captured and tortured and killed on Al-jezer and YouTube, or the reporters being be-headed, not too pretty either.
I am just saying, if we are to believe this guys accusations, don’t you think we would be hearing about this from several sources of media, Amnesty International, Red Cross, Al-jezar, and many other Arab news outlets?????

You are so mis-guided I don't know where to begin. You obviously have not read the Koran but have been told what it 'contains'. And it does not contain what you say. I have looked myself wanting to believe what you have repeated and I too have been told.

Bottom line is, it is not in there.

If you don't believe this story ...well that's on you.

There have been other, proven, stories about things such as these happening.

The prison, the video from the helicopter, just to name two that readily come to mind.

How you can deny the photographs and testimony, even of other soldiers in Iraq, is beyond me.

This isn't the first time civilians have been killed in a war zone, and it won't be the last.

The big difference glaring at us is the intentional killing of non-combatants.

You want to give these people medals and welcome them back into our society? I don't.

Not just the boots on the ground need to be held accountable, the officers and leadership as well. Maybe more so.

And now they have passed a law that merely questioning the governments agenda is grounds for the U.S. military to round us up and detain us indefinitely without charge or trial.

That doesn't concern you just a little?

And that is only one of the aspects of this bill.

I have seen some of these vet's firsthand who have returned from this stupid war. You can tell just by looking and talking to them that they are 'off' just a bit.

You want to dismiss all this because, as you say, He clearly states he is mentally ill in his letter; it is obvious he is suffering from delusions;, ?

Of course he is. That was part of the whole story if you bothered to watch it.

That does not mean his story is false, or there is some conspiracy with his family and other soldiers to concoct this story and fabricate or misuse pictures that backs up his story.

Instead of waving a flag and saying war is hell, maybe you should be concerned for your own son's mental health, which I hope is fine.

Our government is not perfect. Far from it. And it does some pretty despicable things.

Our illusions are crumbling more and more every day. We are starting to see that our emperor has no clothes.

One day maybe you will too.

"48 Hours Mystery" reached out repeatedly to the Army for a response to John Needham's story. The Army declined to comment.
