Detectives Seek Information In Year Old Homicide

Location: Da’ Spot Dance Club, US Rt. 13 and Trussum Pond Road, Laurel, DE

Date of Occurrence: Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11:28 p.m.

Victim: Alfred Stanley, Hurlock, Maryland

Laurel, DE- Delaware State Police Homicide Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help in helping to solve a Laurel area homicide that occurred last New Year’s Eve.

The incident happened at approximately 11:28 p.m. on Friday, December 31, 2010 during a fight between a group of male subjects from Delaware and second group of male subjects from Maryland in the parking lot of Da’ Spot Dance Club in Laurel. During the fight, one of the subjects began firing rounds from a handgun striking the business owner, Alfred Stanley. Stanley was removed from the scene by responding EMS personnel and transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center located in Salisbury, Maryland. Alfred Stanley was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries on Sunday, January 2, 2011.

Homicide detectives have followed several leads in this case; however, have not been able to make an arrest at this time. Detectives have revealed that there were many people present in the parking lot of the club during the fight and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to come forward with information.

Gotta wonder. Greg Forte disappeared in the Fenwick Island area just north of Ocean City a year ago. Body found and identified in OC later but nothing else. Currents go North. His body was found washed up in OC but nobody can figure out how he got from Fenwick to the OC beach.

Maybe he pissed off too many of the wrong people too.
