Justice Dept. In Deadlock With Alabama Over Illegal Immigration Law

The Obama administration’s legal campaign against restrictive state immigration laws has led to a bitter standoff in Alabama, where Justice Department attorneys are investigating possible civil rights violations.

The federal government already has sued Alabama over its new law, one of three such lawsuits against states that have cracked down on illegal immigration. Now, the Justice Department has opened a civil rights investigation to monitor potential discrimination as parts of the Alabama law take effect.

If a British citizen came to our country from across the Mexican border and was found to be living here illegally, he could be found out via the same law. Therefore, there is no discrimination in the law and it cannot be struck down. The only reason that they are playing the race card here is the fact that 99% if illegal immigrants that come here from Mexico happen to be Hispanics. DUH!Who'd a thunk?

By the way, can anyone tell me why we don't have a Canadian illegal immigration problem? That border is over 3,000 miles long and unguarded.

That's because they aren't being held down and having their liberties taken... They have more freedom over there...

They have no need t be here... we have no jobs, money, or health care that's good... Weed is not all that illegal over there and that's part of it to...

I wish Maryland would pass something but this liberal state would do no such thing. Maryland is becoming a haven for illegals. I keep thinking I should move.
