you know its not for life right? pensions are based on an equation between how many years you served, and your highest paid years, and cannot be more then 80% of that. and you also have to have at least 5 years in to even qualify, so many people like Krativol will not receive anything.

Does this make you wonder why Ocean City was paying a "Town Manager" $170,000 per year for a town that is only 10 miles long and a couple of blocks wide? Kudos for the Town Council that finally cut this off and best of luck on their future efforts.

After too many years, Ocean City needs to focus on giving back to the tourists that made them what they are.

Anonymous 3:55 p.m. you are mistaken. Do not confuse state government perks for federal. Please read the written law--they wrote it and voted for it.

Man oh man. Some folks out there just don't get it!! OC isn't Whaleyville or Pocomoke or Princess Anne. It ain't some broke nothin of an eastern shore farm town. It is a multi-million dollar business that brings the state boatloads of tax revenue!!

So listen there smart guy, just because $170,000 is a king's ransom compared with your peanuts wages doesn't mean the man didn't both deserve it AND earned it. CAuse he did.

Hoo boy. Talk about getting YOUR facts straight.

I also seem to recall that they only (not the Prez, but the reps and sens) have to serve into (not even complete) a second term to be vested in the plan and receive these monies. But this pension is small potatoes to any of them. They make their real money by peddling their influence.
