AUTOPSY RULES STATE HOSPITAL PATIENT DEATH A HOMICIDE

(BALTIMORE, MD) – An autopsy has confirmed that a state hospital patient’s death last night in Howard County was the result of a homicide.    

An autopsy was conducted today at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore on the body of Rogelio Mondragon, 40.  Mondragon was found unresponsive by staff in his room at the Clifton T. Perkins Hospital in Jessup, Md. last night.  

The autopsy determined the manner of Mondragon’s death was homicide and the cause was multiple blunt force injuries.  The autopsy showed the victim sustained injuries to his face and neck which included severe trauma to his larynx.  

State Police have charged Andre Mayo, 46, another patient at the hospital, with the murder of Mondragon.  Mayo remains in the custody of the Howard County Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
