Microsurfacing Will Require Lane Closures in Sussex County

Lewes -- As part of the Delaware Department of Transportation's (DelDOT) pavement and rehabilitation program, each year a number of roads are selected for a process called microsurfacing. The contractor, Asphalt Paving Systems Inc., will be placing notices on the doors of the affected residences and businesses informing them of the impending lane closures. The work will begin on Wednesday, August 10 and end on Friday, August 26, pending weather. Lane closures will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The following roads will be impacted:

August 10 through August 12
Gills Neck Road between Route 9 and Hawkeye Subdivision
Patriots Way between Avenue of Honor and Bethesda Road

August 15 through August 26
Broadkill Road between Route 1 and the end of Broadkill Road at Broadkill Beach
Lighthouse Road between Dew Drop Road and Hay Point Landing Road
