County residents can now pinpoint their residence to see if it is within the evacuation areas. The interactive map is on the county website at http://www.wicomicocounty.org Residents can view the map by clicking on “Click Here for Hurricane Evacuation Map” located directly below “Click Here for Details.”

Earlier today, Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr., issued a Declaration of Emergency for Wicomico County in anticipation of the arrival of Hurricane Irene. A part of the Declaration included an Order for the evacuation of segments of Wicomico County in low-lying areas near the Wicomico and Nanticoke Rivers.
