Mayor James Ireton, Jr. will lead a kayak and canoe expedition on the East Prong of the Wicomico River beginning at 4:45 p.m. today, May 29, 2011. The expedition will study the East Prong of the river including existing storm drains, bulk heading, and soil erosion. A report will be given to the Wicomico River Project. The expedition will end at the Salisbury Festival opening ceremony at 6:00 p.m. with the ribbon cutting at 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Ireton, State’s Attorney Matt Maciarello, Deputy State’s Attorney Ella Disharoon, Safe Streets Prosecutor Rich Brueckner, local business owners and environmental groups are slated to participate.
