LANHAM, Md. - Prince George's County Police say a person was shot and killed trying to break into a Lanham house Tuesday, marking the 12th homicide in the county this year.
Police say a person tried to break into a home on the 7400 block of Riverdale Road, when someone inside the home fired shots.
The person shot was pronounced dead at the scene.
Earlier Tuesday, police say a man who was a full-time student at the university was fatally shot in the 8800 block of 38th Avenue in Adelphi around 11:30 a.m.
Police say a man in a black ski mask was seen fleeing the scene on foot. Police believe the incident may be drug related.
Police say the student was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

One homicide a day. That's a pretty impressive record you're racking up there, PG County! Maybe the county government needs to get some kind of crime task force in place to start dealing with this problem.

942-They apparently have already conviened a taskforce, bringing together smaller municipal PDs, allowing for better inter-department communications. I personally don't think it'll make a bit of difference.
