“In our constitution, the lieutenant governor in Maryland has no constitutional authority at all – only what the governor gives them,” ex-Gov. Bob Ehrlich told former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney last month as they had a joking exchange about Romney being “unemployed” and “available” to serve on Ehrlich’s ticket.

If that's the case, then why did Bob Ehrlich make a big deal out of who he picked for LG?
