"There Will Be No Apology"

Those are the words of the mother of Matt Dariano, one of the five kids at Live Oak High School in the San Francisco Bay Area who were sent home for having the temerity to wear American flag tee shirts on the "Mexican heritage day" of Cinco de Mayo.

"There will not be an apology," Mrs. Dariano told the camera crew outside the school. "Matthew is part Hispanic, OK? He's an American. So, no, there will be no apology from any Dariano."

Guess who else uttered the exact same phrase last year? James Crowley, the white Cambridge cop who arrested black Harvard professor Louis Gates, Jr. and was singled out in a nationally televised press conference by President Obama for "acting stupidly."

The fact is, Americans are increasingly fed up with the racially divisive, politically correct insanity pulsating through the country today. After years of being pressured and browbeaten by the left-wing PC police about what they can say, do, think, and wear, many Americans have had enough. And they're especially furious with being asked to apologize for things that aren't or shouldn't be in the least bit offensive.

the school should apologize for sending him home

The school was wrong by sending the kids home.

However, have any of those kids ever worn an american shirt before?

I bet they have not, its great to be patriot its something else to just wear the shirt to start trouble.

While I generally have a liberal opinion about most issues, here I would have to agree with Dariano. It just does not seem right that they would be suspended for wearing a flag. There had to be more to that.
If I am not mistaken, the Tinker case set the precedent.

How does wearing and AMERICAN flag on your shirt IN THE USA start trouble? Did they also remove all the flags from the outside and inside the school?
If it's wrong to wear the American flag on the shirt why is it ok to wear the Mexican flag on a shirt?

the only apologies i would like to hear would be:

"im sorry, you have to go home."

&

"im sorry, we arent paying for you and your family here anymore. good luck."

"Mexican heritage day" of Cinco de Mayo? REALLY?

This is a beer drinking holiday created by Carona. It's not even a Mexican holiday. When Carona was trying to break into the college scene where import beer was in vogue, Heineken was reported to have started a rumor that Mexican Carona workers were Pi$$ing in the beer. Carona countered with their Cinco de Mayo campaign.

I have to wonder what the teachers are telling the kids.

10:48, Your mentality is EXACTLY what is wrong with this country. They can wear an American Flag whenever they want. AND, if they happened to wear them because this is America, and not Mexico, on this day, as a form of expression..... that is what people have fought and died for.....freedom. If they want to get offended, they can move back to mexico. They can celebrate drinko de mayo everyday.

11:31, You are so correct.

Their slogan is -- “Por la Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada" -- translates to “For the race, everything. Outside of the race, nothing.”
Whats worse is that our government is giving them money every year to fulfill their racist agenda.

Actually, they can get high anyway they please since all drugs are legal in Mexico. Kinda make you wonder why they have drug cartels if you can buy them at 7-11. Of course, if you can't afford them and you are addicted, you need to send some family members to the US to get money to send home to pay for the ole drug habit.

Al in Fenwick, you might want to read up on your history about Cinco de Mayo and learn what is so important about this date.

I agree with Mrs Dariano there should be no apology

I did read up on the history. What did I miss? Did I forget to give the French credit for participating in Cinco de Mayo?

Yes, it WAS an event but such a small and insignificant one that even Mexico doesn't recognize it. Certainly not in comparison to the value that Corona Beer gives to it.

IT DOES NOT JUSTIFY THE REMOVAL OF A DISPLAYED AMERICAN FLAG IN THIS COUNTRY.

display the flag wherever & whenever you please. All opposed can move to a country that prohibits any flag display. Who do these Nazi teachers think they are?
FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION!(speech)This IS America, last time I voted...may not be, next time.
