It's a nice day to spend with the kids. Snow balls and hot chocolate. Have a nice day, Joe.

Joe, how do we know if the courts in Georegetown are closed?

bunch of whimps. Roads aren't bad at all. If the buses are afraid to drive on the roads, fine - those who can make it, come to school, those who are too scared to travel, stay home.

Its a good thing Delmarva-ites have not lived in areas that get a lot of snow - you would have a nervous breakdown by now. Hell, the other year they cancelled our schools because the forecast said it "might" snow. lol

I agree. The roads were not bad at all between 8 and 8:30. They could have done a school DELAY for 2 hours and the kids would be able to get in some learning time today.
Now they'll all be happy today they got out of school but will be griping in June that their school year got extended.

Who cares about June? Nothing gets done in school at the end of the year anyway. Everyone will have a fit until state testing in March. Then, they'll just cruise on until the end of the year.

We don't have the resources or experience to handle much snow on Delmarva. If we received more snow here every year, then we would deal with it better. Imagine the taxes we would pay in MD for proper snow removal.

It was stupid to close schools with just two inches of snow. The roads were wet at 9 am and dry at 11 am. I guess we can send our kids to school till the end of June.

It was really ignorant on the part of John Fredericksen and the School Board to close schools today. You people are fools to continue to support that idiot. Fredericksen makes fun of Wicomico for closing schools because of snow and he is the one that makes that decision. In Minnesota where he comes from it is -15 to -30 degrees below zero. It has nothing to do with not getting much snow here and not used to driving in it. Just drive careful. Most of our jobs don't shut down because of snow and we still make it to work. The problem with us that have kids is we have to find a sitter or take off work and waste our vacation time. Those of us who don't have vacation time at work have to take those days off without pay. Did you all know that you people with kids have to keep going to school now til June 16th because of the 3 snow days? Guess what my kids won't be there. We will be on the beach somewhere on vacation.

I suggest we petition our County Council to get rid of John Fredericksen and fight for an elected school board. Fredericksen hasn't even been there a year yet so maybe he is on probation.

remember folks with a two hour delay the bus starts running at 7:45. The right call was made.
