Tip Leads To Wanted Fugitive

Unit block of Roselawn Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County- occurred Monday, October 19, 2009, at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Suspect(s): Clifford Blevins, Roselawn Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

Resume: In the early afternoon hours of Monday, October 19th, Troopers were called to a residence on Roselawn Avenue after receiving a tip that wanted subject Clifford Blevins was there.

A computer check confirmed that Blevins was wanted by DSP Troop 1 for a theft that occurred back in June. In this case, Blevins was working as a handyman at a home on Marsh Road when he allegedly stole a copper fireplace (valued at approximately $1,000.00) from the homeowner’s garage and sold it at a scrap yard for about $22.00.

Additional computer checks also revealed Blevins was wanted on multiple other court capiases.

Troopers responded to the Roselawn address and took Blevins into custody without incident. A search of his bedroom yielded heroin and a hypodermic needle.

Clifford Blevins was transported back to Troop 6 where he was formally charged with Theft (felony), Criminal Trespass (misdemeanor), Possession of a Hypodermic Needle (misdemeanor) and Possession of Heroin (misdemeanor).

Bail was set at $14,800.00 secured and Clifford Blevins was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute.
