For what it's worth, I love taking shots like this one. It stores a piece of history and shows what time does to any thing and anyone. Now if they had built this on the Moon with no gravity, it would probably last forever?
Nonetheless, there are all sorts of buildings like this on the Eastern Shore. Do you have one/some you'd like to share? If so, send it to alberobutzo@wmconnect.com

I love these old places and find it an absolute shame that people don't try to restore them. Yes I know it is expensive, but there are hardly any of these behomoths left on the shore.
In Southern Maryland on the Western Shore people have taken great care to preserve them and you can see them every where in use especially in Calvert, St. Marys and Charles County.
We had a job in New Hampshire last year and I was utterly amazed at the condition of the barns and out buildings there.
They are painted and kept in pristine condition. No one uses vinyl siding there for anything and there are lumber mills where you can take your rotted lap siding in and they will cut you new pieces just like your old 1700's version so it can be replaced.
I was very impressed with how beautifully everything is kept there, and what pride they have in ownership. We didn't see one yard with a bunch of crap laying around in it.
Wish I could say that for the Eastern Shore.
