Now all of a sudden I'm getting novels sent to me from Fire Fighters in the hopes I'll put them up as a Post.
Nope, you'll have to sift through the multitude of Posts I have up daily and see where these comments are. I will say however, they are forever long going on and on about these guys being hero's.
Quite frankly, they make me sick. They admit to using the death of one Fire Fighter to advertise and use his name to raise funds. They tell me I'm going to hell and they can't wait to see me there. They also threaten my life, hoping it will come sooner than later.
Sadly, they don't realize my hits are so far over the top, they can't control me like the Daily Times. I put out the facts and truth and these guys are furious! They dare me to show up at Grand Openings, hoping they will scare me away.
I simply replied that this new Fire Station is probably more mine than it is theirs. Most Fire Fighters don't live in the City and or pay taxes in the City. I do own property in the City and I do pay CORPORATE taxes, not residential.
That being said, you better believe I'll be at the Grand Opening and like I said, I'd like to see just ONE of you SOB's try and stop me from being there.
Knowing Barrie Tilghman as well as I do, I'm sure she's going to attempt to design a way to get a Peace Order against me like they did at the Zoo. It's all about who you know, right Barrie?

In the second (I believe) paragraph, it is "heroes," not "hero's." An apostrophe is never used to indicate a plural noun. An apostrophe is only used to indicate possession or contraction.

Spell check would not have caught it anyway. "Hero's" is grammatically correct in a sentence such as: "The hero's coat..," since you are showing the possesive of the sigular noun 'hero.' "Heroes" is the plural noun representing more than one "hero." If we were talking about all of their coats (to continue the example from above) you would use "heroes'" as the plural possesive.
Picky, I know, but I teach this to my students (and my own children) all the time and always feel the need to point out mistakes.

What is your problem with the Salisbury firefighter's naming a scholarship fund after a true hero who died in Iraq saving someone's life? I think it's a fine tribute to a brave young man who for reasons only God knows was taken from this Earth way too soon. It is being done with the full support of his family, and not a dime of the money raised went to the construction of the new firehouse you so hate. It is a small but worthy legacy for Mike.
And here you go again, trying to slam local firefighters over the stupidest of stuff. Again, I'm sure these inflamatory stories increase your hit count, but at what cost to the community? You certainly have your right to not like the new firehouse and to speak out about it, but here's a RED NET ALERT for you. The Salisbury firefighters didn't pick that location either, whether it is good or it bad. Their EMPLOYER did. But that is where they are going to work out from for the forseeable future, love it or hate it. It is not their fault that it cost 10 million bucks to put it up. Old Station 16, as nostolgic as a place it is, was way, way overdue to be replaced.
And I am definitely not here to "be in the spotlight on Sbynews". And as I've said before, I have no doubt that alot of your anonymous posts here are not Salisbury firefighters or firefighters at all. There are people in this world that just enjoy sturring shit, just to see who it lands on.

Funny, I was going to say it is obvious to see those that are claiming to be firefighters, but are obvious impostors, for the same reasons. To be a firefighter, even a volunteer one, requires a significant investment in furthering your education. With the lack of intellect and basic common sense in many of these so-called "firefighter" posts, i'm betting their impostors.

And, while I'm venting, one more thing that pissed me off and I found insulting was that stupid comment on another thread ny you about firefighters standing there and watching you burn if you were in a car wreck. I would stake with my life that the SFD, DFD or Urtown FD would save your and your family's butts if the need arose, in your car, house, or wherever, regardless of their personal feelings about you. Now Joe I periodically visit your site, however I never post. But I played in the McMullen tournament and I distinctly remember you there taking pictures. I also remember reading a post where you commented on the beautiful voice of the young woman who sang the national anthem. In that same post I remember you stating that it was a worthy cause and an honorable memorial for all who new Mike, to pay their respects year after year (not your exact words, just my perception of what you said). I also tried to find that post in your archives and I may have overlooked it, but either way I couldn't find it so I couldn't quote you. Now I'm reading that you are accusing us of exploiting a hometown hero for personal gain. Which one is it, you can't have it both ways. I never had the privelege of knowing Mike as he was killed prior to my joining the department. But I will tell you this, you making the accusation of any wrong doing with that money isn't just kicking the fire department, it's slapping the face of the family who was tragically left behind when Mike left this earth. No one is "using" his name, there was a scholorship set up in honor of his memory to help pay for people who wishedto persue a degree in E.M.S.
My father in-law passed away almost two years ago, after a short, hard battle with A.L.S. (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Lou Gehrigs Disease) which is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. His name was Andy Schipul and was a teacher and coach in the Queen Annes County school system for 25+ years. There is a scholorship set up in his name by his family and friends, so I guess we're exploiting him for personal gain as well.

Joe you are right about Mike being gone. What dishonors Mike was when he passed away he all of a sudden had alot of new "Best Friends" from people that didnt like him. Mike was a good guy. He served his country, He did his job, Unfortunately he paid the ultimate sacrifice saving another solider.

Look, we all have not thankfully lost a lot of people in our lives and for some reason Fire Fighters take the loss of one of their own a thousand times harder. Perhaps it's their way of getting so much of what they see on a daily basis, out? I respect that, truly I do.
However, some dwell on it forever and even look to go after someone like me for not agreeing with them totally. I would NEVER in my lifetime attempt to disrespect someone like Mike and that is what upset me the most. When you have people suggesting or telling me how I feel about something or someone, it's just wrong.
The Salisbury Fire Department has some serious issues right now. Certainly, I do not like their leadership, just as I do not like the leadership in the Police Department. However, that doesn't make See, Gordy or Webster bad people.
If I were the leader of the Fire Department and a serious issue like the LC situation, I would demand immediate termination to ANYONE who used the "N" Word, period, end of story. I don't give a sh*t if it's an Officer, a Volunteer or even one of the Ladies Auxiliary people, they would be history in an instant.
