All it takes is a quick glance at the National Football League’s recent ratings to realize that their stance on players kneeling for the National Anthem in not in line with the stance taken by their American viewership. In fact, it would appear that the League and their supporters at ESPN are in the wrong on this whole fight.
But don’t take it from me, take it from liberal sports commentator Stephen Smith, who is now being forced to admit that the football players who are kneeling for the anthem are losing to President Trump.

Mom sees 3 men gang raping her daughter, stabs one of them to death — and faced MURDER CHARGES
It doesn’t matter where on the planet you live, a mother’s fierce devotion to the welfare of her children is one of the strongest forces you’ll ever see. Generally speaking, there is no length to which a mother will not go to ensure the safety and well-being of her kids, and that included killing anyone who is putting them in danger.
A mother in South Africa was facing murder charges after killing a man and stabbing two others after she was alerted to the fact that they were sexually assaulting her daughter, which is something anyone with kids would do, right?

Michigan Man Gains Joint Custody Of Child He Had With 12-Yr Old Rape Victim- She’s Not His Only Victim
Christopher Mirasalo raped a 12-year-old girl when he was 18, and now at 27 he has been awarded to have joint custody of the child that was conceived.
The girl, now a 21, was not the only victim of Mirasalo’s. Christopher, now 27, was convicted of raping another child in a separate incident.
In Brown City, Michigan, Mirasalo has been given joint custody of the child conceived in that first rape case in 2008, has also served a separate four years in prison for his sexual assault of a second child.
The woman, 21, is using any legal method at her disposal to prevent Mirsalo from having access to her child, using the Rape Survival Child Custody Act. The woman’s attorney is arguing that since Mirasalo had both forcibly raped and threatened her with death threats as a child in September of 2008 he should be prevented from having any access.

The NFL Protests Are Bad, But Is There A Bigger More Evil Truth Behind It All?
As I’ve said from the beginning, there is always a radical leftist element behind things such as the NFL protests. And it’s frequently not what you think it is. Case in point… the NFL Players Association is an affiliate of the major left-wing employee union AFL-CIO. In other words, communists. They donate a ton of money to leftist organizations and causes. Among those is the oft mentioned “resistance” to President Trump. Charity is once again being used as a cover to fund radical, communist movements.
Evidently, the NFLPA is funding groups such as Center for Community Change (CCC), which advocates for complete Amnesty for illegal immigrants, as well as Working America, a Big Labor organization that promotes far-left “class consciousness.” Center for Community Change Action (CCCA), spent $3 million on Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign last year. Working America donated more than $4 million and knocked on 2.5 million doors on behalf of Clinton in battleground states. The NFLPA’s donations to radical organizations are controlled by powerful Marxists such as George Soros and Deepak Bhargava.

Jemele Hill scandal: Pressure mounts on Disney CEO Bob Iger to fire ESPN star
Disney boss Bob Iger is facing mounting pressure on multiple fronts regarding ESPN anchor Jemele Hill, whose racially charged statements have ticked off conservatives and now possibly NFL bigwigs.
From a business standpoint, firing Hill would be an obvious solution. But Iger, who is believed to harbor 2020 presidential aspirations, could risk upsetting the left.
ESPN suspended Hill on Monday after she violated the company’s social media guidelines for the second time in less than a month. First she called President Trump a “white supremacist” and claimed if he “were not white, he never would have been elected.” But it took Hill potentially impacting the network’s bottom line with Twitter rhetoric to be punished.
In the second instance Sunday, she took to Twitter and encouraged fans who weren't happy with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ policy that his players must stand for the national anthem to boycott the team’s advertisers.

EPA, do us all a favor and don't pick favorites
President Trump's administration is killing one of former President Barack Obama's most dangerous overreaches, the Clean Power Plan. Federal law as currently interpreted won't let the administration stop there. The Environmental Protection Agency will probably need to replace the plan. This needs to be done with care, and warily, for there will be much special pleading for favors by different industries, and many legal pitfalls.
You may recall when Democrats lost control of Senate after the 2014 elections, Obama belittled Congress and boasting that he'd go around it with executive orders — his "a pen and a phone." The next year, his EPA issued the Clean Power Plan, seeking to impose by fiat what even a Democratic Congress had rejected, regulating greenhouse gas emissions by power plants.
After the House passed the Waxman-Markey climate bill in 2009, Senate Democrats, even with a 60-vote supermajority, couldn't get the bill across the finish line.
Instead, Obama leaned on the Supreme Court ruling inMassachusetts v. EPAwhich found somehow that the Clean Air Act required the EPA to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.
Through the 2015 Clean Power Plan the Obama administration implemented that ruling, but not by actually regulating emissions from power plants. The rule created a complex scheme whereby utilities had to come up with various ways to mitigate or minimize emissions from the power sources on which they relied.

7 unexpected requests on Trump's immigration reform wish list
The White House pitched Congress a 70-point immigration reform wish list on Sunday for lawmakers to consider as they work on a legislative solution to the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
The majority of the reforms outlined in the proposal are ideas Trump has previously called for while campaigning for president, such as building a border wall and cutting back on legal immigration. He proposed all of these ideas as possible conditions that would have to be met in return for legislating protections for immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally when they were minors.
But a few of those recommendations have never or rarely been mentioned by the Trump administration; nevertheless, they're ideas that crack down on illegal immigration and are expected to be favored by his supporters.
Here are seven unexpected asks:
1. A tougher stance on unaccompanied minors
Trump wants to better control the number of unaccompanied minors still showing up at the southwestern border by changing the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008. That law requires all minors from noncontiguous countries be referred to Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement and placed in the care of a family member.
The administration wants all unaccompanied minors treated the same way the U.S. currently treats Mexicans and Canadians. Instead of being parolled into the country, unaccompanied minors from all countries would be screened within 48 hours of apprehension and returned if they were not trafficked, had not credible fear of returning, or could make a voluntary departure.
The number of unaccompanied minors being apprehended at the southwestern border has dropped significantly since January, after skyrocketing during the summer of 2014. In the first 11 months of fiscal year 2017, the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection agency reported 38,495 unaccompanied minors and 71,445 family units arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border.

HIV patients in California who expose others to disease will no longer face felony charges
California’s governor, Jerry Brown, on Friday signed a law that lowers the penalty for exposing partners to HIV from a felony to a misdemeanor, which includes those who donate blood without informing the center about their HIV status.
“Today California took a major step toward treating HIV as a public health issue, instead of treating people living with HIV as criminals,” Sen. Scott Wiener, D.- San Francisco, told The Los Angeles Times.

Beware of Tax Reform
President Trump and the congressional Republican leadership recently unveiled a tax reform “framework.” The framework has a number of provisions that will lower taxes on middle-class Americans. For example, the framework doubles the standard deduction and increases the child care tax credit. It also eliminates the alternative minimum tax (AMT). Created in the 1960s, the AMT was designed to ensure the “wealthy” did not use “loopholes” to “get out of” paying taxes. Today the AMT is mostly a means to increase taxes on the middle class.
The framework eliminates the “death tax,” thus enabling family-owned small businesses and farms to remain family owned. It also helps the economy by lowering the corporate tax rate to 20 percent, reducing taxes on small businesses. The framework also adopts a territorial tax system, which means US companies would only pay tax on profits earned in the United States.
However, the framework is far from a total victory for liberty. Concerns have been raised that, depending on what income levels are assigned to what tax brackets, the plan could increase taxes on many middle- and lower-income Americans! This is largely due to the framework’s elimination of most tax deductions.
The framework also contains a stealth tax increase imposed via the chained consumer price index (chained CPI). Supporters of chained CPI clam the government is currently overstating inflation. The truth is exactly the opposite: government statistics are manipulated to understate inflation.

NSSF Issues Statement On Bump-Fire Stocks And Las Vegas
Now is the time when every group that deals with guns will issue their statements regarding not just guns in general, but bump-fire stocks in particular. The National Shooting Sports Foundation is no different. Earlier today, the group issued their own statement following those issued by groups like the NRA and Gun Owners of America.
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families and loved ones of all those killed and injured in the criminal attack in Las Vegas. The manufacture, distribution and sale of automatic firearms and their components has been stringently regulated by federal laws since 1934. We believe the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) should interpret and enforce existing laws and regulations. We call upon ATF to conduct a prompt review and evaluation of aftermarket trigger activation devices such as bump stocks to determine whether they are lawful to install and use on a firearm under the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA), or whether, if they have no function or purpose other than to convert a conventional firearm into an automatic firearm, they are regulated items under the NFA. We urge Congress to allow ATF to complete its review before considering any legislation so that any policy decisions can be informed by the facts and ATF’s analysis.

The Consent Of The Conned
Every single line item in our entire Bernie Madoff scam of a system is cooked.
My theme this week is The Great Unraveling, by which I mean the unraveling of our social-political-economic system of hierarchical, centralized power. Let's start by looking at how the basis of governance has transmogrified from consent of the governed toconsent of the conned.
In effect, our leadership leads by lying. As we know, when it gets serious, you have to lie to preserve the perquisites and power of those atop the wealth-power pyramid, and well, it's serious all the time now, so lies are the default setting of the entire status quo.

Renewable Energy Is Bigger ‘Scam’ than Bernie Madoff and Enron
The greatest scam being perpetrated against taxpayers and consumers is renewable energy, according to a new analysis published by the Australian, greater even than Ponzi, Madoff and Enron.
While sinking enormous financial resources into propping up renewable energy prospectors, national governments are providing no perceptible benefits to their citizens, writes Judith Sloan, a renowned Australian economist who has served on the Australian government’s Productivity Commission.
“With very few exceptions, governments all over the world have fallen into the trap of paying renewable energy scammers on the basis that it is necessary, at least politically, to be seen to be doing something about climate change,” Sloan writes, before providing readers with an avalanche of economic data to back up her assertion.
In Australia, more than 2 billion taxpayer dollars a year are funneled to renewable energy handlers by virtue of the operation of the renewable energy target and the associated renewable energy certificates, Sloan observes.

ABC News Chief Political Analyst Caught Pushing Fake Terrorism Claim
Statistics are apparently hard to understand if you're part of the media cartel talking about terrorism, because, as I've reported many times here at PJ Media, they keep getting it wrong.
Today's contestant is Matthew Dowd, chief political analyst at ABC News, who on Twitter yesterday made this astounding claim:
This claim, that more were killed in the Las Vegas shooting last week than by Islamic terrorists over the past decade, is flatly untrue, as I'll show you in a minute.
But when people began to push back on his false claim, he asserted it was a fact (!!!) and then repeated the claim:

Xbox 360 Controllers Save U.S. Navy Boatloads of Cash
The control panel used to operate a Virginia-class submarine’s periscope features two masts that rotate 360 degrees and high definition cameras that showcase the images picked up on large display monitors. There are a few downsides to this advanced imaging system though; the controls are awkward to use, they require hours of training to use properly, and they are extremely expensive. But the United States Navy has a cost-effective solution: replace them all with Xbox 360 controllers!
Lt. j.g. Kyle Leonard, the USS John Warner’s assistant weapons officer, recalled why Navy officials began experimenting with videogame hardware: “The Navy got together and they asked a bunch of J.O.s and junior guys, ‘What can we do to make your life better?’ and one of the things that came out is the controls for the scope," he said. "It’s kind of clunky in your hand; it’s real heavy.”
It’s great to hear that our submarine pilots will have a far easier time controlling the periscope with comfortable Xbox 360 controllers, and it’s even better when you find out that the $30 videogame controllers are replacing an unwieldly control system that costs $38,000 per unit. Not only does this save the taxpayers a boatload of money, the Xbox controller allows operators to easily learn how to handle the periscope within minutes.

A Viewer Writes: New Salisbury water bill charges
Anonymous said...
Here's the skinny:
The Bay Restoration Fee is a fee established by the State of Maryland. The County is required to collect this fee for the State. Effective 7/1/2012, the Bay Restoration Fee will increase to $15.00 per quarter charge ($60 per year) on the sewer or water bills of property owners served by public utilities.
Each residential dwelling that receives an individual sewer bill and each onsite sewage disposal system or holding tank that receives a water bill is subject to a $5.00 monthly fee.
Each user of an onsite sewage disposal system that does not receive a water bill and each user of sewage holding tank that does not receive a water bill is subject to a $60 annual fee.
NOTE: The fee for some users in Garrett County and Ocean City where the wastewater does not drain into the Chesapeake Bay or the Coastal Bay watersheds(surface or ground water) will remain at the existing fee rate of $2.50 for each residential dwelling and $30 per year per septic or holding tank.
*********************
The city only collects it and hands it to the county, which hands it to the state. The city's billing saves the county the postage and printing that would be required if it billed directly. If it were't done this way, the county would bill directly and be on the hook for thousands annually, with no reimbursement for billing by the state.

Wicomico County Announces Rural Legacy Expansion
Wicomico County Announces Rural Legacy Expansion
County Executive Bob Culver is pleased to announce that on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, the Maryland Board of Public Works approved the expansion of the Quantico Creek Rural Legacy Area in Wicomico County. The Board of Public Works, which includes Governor Larry Hogan, Comptroller Peter Franchot and Treasurer Nancy Kopp, voted unanimously to approve the expansion. This expansion includes areas over the paleochannel and lands along Rewastico Creek in western Wicomico County.
Executive Culver and the County Council recommended that the Rural Legacy Area be expanded to include these environmentally sensitive and important areas which will provide additional protection measures and opportunities. This will provide landowners in these areas a voluntary financial alternative to selling lots for development.
The paleochannel is a buried riverbed estimated to store approximately seven billion gallons of water. This resource currently provides potable water for the City of Salisbury and is an important future water supply for the citizens of the City of Salisbury and Wicomico County. Because of its vast potential as a source of drinking water, additional protective measures will help to ensure that the channel is protected from contamination resulting from environmentally incompatible land uses.
The Rural Legacy Program, established by the State of Maryland in 1997, is designed to preserve large tracts of productive agricultural, forested lands, natural and cultural resources through the purchase of conservation easements. Conservation easements protect the land for future generations while allowing owners to continue to use and live on their land.

The Quantico Creek Rural Legacy Area was established locally in the year 2000 and contained 14,687 acres of land. Over 4,000 acres of land have been protected through this program. This expansion will add an additional 21,131 acres to our Rural Legacy Area for a total of 35,818 acres. Wicomico County will seek additional funding from the State of Maryland in future years that can be used for the purchase of conservation easements.
The Rural Legacy Program is a voluntary participation program. Easements are sought from willing land owners in these areas in order to protect areas vulnerable to development.

Cops Abandon Search for Lost Child to Bust Man For Weed Pipes, Then Brag About It on Facebook
The Ashley Borough Police Department received a call for help in finding a missing child. But instead of locating the missing child, when they smelled marijuana at a nearby residence, they abandoned their search and confiscated a cannabis user’s bongs and smoking devices. That was their first mistake, according to some. Their second mistake, arguably, was bragging about their bust on Facebook

Good Guy with a Gun Could Have Stopped Vegas Shooter Before Mass Shooting
Following Sheriff Joe Lombardo’s October 9 announcement that Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos actually discovered Stephen Paddock six minutes before the attack began, it is only natural to wonder if Campos could have stopped the attack–had he been armed.
