Zarif screams so loud bodyguards have entered the room, Iranian diplomat claims
VIENNA—Iran’s foreign minister and lead negotiator in nuclear talks is known to frequently scream and shout at Western diplomats, including Secretary of State John Kerry, a practice that has caused alarm among bodyguards stationed outside the negotiating room, according to a member of the Iranian diplomatic team who spoke to the Farsi-language press.
Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif—who is scheduled to hold one-on-one talks with Kerry this evening in Vienna—”frequently shouts at Western diplomats” in such a forceful manner that bodyguards have hurriedly entered the negotiation room on occasion worried that an incident might occur, according to one Iranian diplomat involved in negotiations who spoke anonymously with the Iranian press earlier this week.
On one occasion, Zarif’s shouts were so loud that a member of the Iranian delegation entered the negotiation room to check on the players, according to the report, which was independently translated for the Free Beacon.
Upon entering, the Iranian official was informed by European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton, a chief western negotiator, that Zarif was just shouting and she had gotten used to it, according to an independent translation of the report.
The report of Zarif’s aggressive behavior is consistent with previous reports claiming that Iranian negotiators tend to treat their Western counterparts—particularly the Americans—with scorn.

MassMutual Senior Vice President Found Dead, Stabbed In Chest In Apparent Homicide
A week after stunned Tribeca woke up to news of a grizzly death in which a Citigroup managing director living on Greenwich Street was found dead in his bathtub with a slashed throat and the lack of a suicide weapon on the scene suggesting there was foul play involved, another banking executive was killed over the weekend, when 54-year-old Melissa Millian, a senior vice president at MassMutual, was found lying in a road in Simsbury, Connecticut, having been stabbed in the chest.
As CBS reports, initially there was speculation Millian may have been in a bicycle accident, or may have been the victim of a hit-and-run. However on Saturday, the office of the Chief State Medical examiner said the cause of her death was a stab wound to the chest, and the manner was homicide.

Senator Ted Cruz Woos New York Jewish Donors
Reviews of Mr. Cruz were uniformly positive as many New York Jews got their first taste of the tea party darling and discovered, to the shock of some, that the Princeton-educated lawyer was rather well-spoken and engaging.
There were some bigger surprises for the promising junior senator, who is widely understood to be considering a run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, including both the firepower and the political leanings of those from the Jewish community who made time for Mr. Cruz.
The Observer can report that Mr. Cruz had a private two-hour meeting with the most highly sought-after donor of all. After sitting next to Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire owner of the Venetian casino who was the single largest donor to Republican causes in 2012, at Sunday night’s ZOA dinner, Mr. Cruz and Mr. Adelson met at the Palace Hotel on Madison Avenue.
Michael Steinhardt – the investing legend and megaphilanthropist who chaired the same Democratic Leadership Council that catapulted Bill Clinton to the White House – also hosted Mr. Cruz at his investment firm’s office.
Jointly hosted by Mr. Boteach and Mr. Steinhardt, about a dozen heavy machers met for a private kosher lunch with the senator, including Perella Weinberg hedge fund manager Dan Arbess, NGN Capital’s Ken Abramowitz, and Edward Turen of Control Equity Group.
Mr. Cruz poured himself a Diet Coke, removed his jacket, and jumped right in.
“There are times in history that are inflections. Basic forks in the road that have far-reaching consequences. I think 2016 is going to be one of those elections.”

Niger Innis: Blacks Rejecting 'Sharptonization' of Politics
South Carolinians sending a black Republican, Tim Scott, to the U.S. Senate with more votes than his colleague, Sen. Lindsey Graham, proves that the cynical race-baiting practiced by Democrats is losing its power to compel party loyalty, veteran civil rights activist Niger Innis told Newsmax TV on Friday.
"That's their fear," Innis, executive director of TheTeaParty.net, told "MidPoint" host Ed Berliner, in regard to Democrats. "Their fear is that the liberal monopoly that has dominated black communities and urban communities for over 50 years, that it's being challenged."
"Tim Scott, when he won his election as senator, he became the first black senator popularly elected in the Deep South, ever," said Innis. "Because even when blacks won after Reconstruction, they were elected by state legislators because that was the rule — not just for blacks, but for any senator.
"Scott got more votes than Lindsey Graham did in South Carolina," said Innis. "You would think that this would be a moment of celebration for our country, a moment of celebration for the South, a moment of celebration for blacks, whites and all Americans.
Yet, the liberals have to play their racial game."
Scott, a former House member from South Carolina appointed to the vacant Senate seat in 2013, was ridiculed as a Republican puppet by one NAACP official, and called worse on Twitter after his election.
Innis, formerly of the Congress on Racial Equality, said that the political game-playing doesn't stop at race.
"I call it the "Sharptonization" of the Democratic Party and the progressive movement," he said, referring to civil rights activist Al Sharpton.
"Al Sharpton came to fame by perpetuating a racial fraud," said Innis,"basically waving the racial bloody red shirt, and that's what unfortunately too many Democrats and too many progressives do. They don't argue the issues, they don't argue policy, they're out with their bloody red shirt being for women one day, blacks the other day and Latinos another day. They're trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

"Broad-Based Slowdown For Home Prices", First Monthly Decrease Since November 2013
While the just revised Q3 GDP surprised everyone to the upside, the Case Shiller index for September which was also reported moments ago, showed yet another month of what it called a "Broad-based Slowdown for Home Prices." The bad news: the 20-City Composite gained 4.9% year-over-year, compared to 5.6% in August. However, this was modestly above the 4.6% expected. However, what was more troubling is that on a sequential basis, the Top 20 Composite MSA posted a modest -0.03% decline, the first sequential drop since February. And from the report itself: "The National Index reported a month-over-month decrease for the first time since November 2013. The Northeast region reported its first negative monthly returns since December 2013 and its worst annual returns since December 2012 due to weaknesses in Washington D.C. and Boston."

Mr. Obama, quoting Scripture’s admonition to welcome and protect the stranger, told millions who have lived and worked here for years, many of them Americans in all but name: We cannot fix your situation yet, but for now we will not expel you, because we have better hopes for you here.
A speech is not a solution, of course, and now that it is over, the hard work begins. Efforts over the last decade to repair immigration have repeatedly ended in failure, leaving the meanness of the broken status quo.
Well, if the NYTEB thinks Obama is going to work hard, they haven’t been paying attention for the last 6 years. As far as Americans in all but name, that’s a serious affront to all those who came here legally and went through the laborious process, as well as those going through it now.

Cardin Statement on the Grand Jury Decision in the Michael Brown Shooting Case
BALTIMORE – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) released the following statement in response to the Ferguson grand jury decision in the Michael Brown shooting case.
“Ferguson, Missouri, will forever be marked by the needless death of Michael Brown. Let’s turn this incident into the spark that launches a change in attitudes and actions rather than a point where violence begets more violence. I join with the Brown family in calling for peaceful protests in the aftermath of the grand jury’s decision. State and local law enforcement must respect the First Amendment rights of citizens to peaceably assemble, and the rights of the press to report this story. I call upon all Americans – even those who disagree with the grand jury decision – to respect the role of our jury system and the independence of the courts in deciding legal questions.
“I encourage the Justice Department to continue its civil rights investigation into this case and its broader probe of the Ferguson Police Department. I urge Attorney General Holder to take immediate action to revise the Justice Department’s guidance so that once and for all racial profiling is prohibited at all levels of law enforcement. For a more permanent fix, Congress should take up and pass my legislation, the End Racial Profiling Act.”
