Selective Media Reporting Further Fuels Our Racial Divide

A man drove his car last Saturday onto a Seattle freeway that had been closed by a Black Lives Matter crowd. The driver killed one person and seriously injured another after going the wrong way up a ramp and then around a barricade.

Reports noted that police “don’t believe impairment was a factor.” Over the weekend, news outlets replayed the brutal hit, but there’s one thing you won’t learn from their coverage: The driver was black and his victims were white.

NPR linked this attack to other car-ramming incidents by “right-wing extremists targeting Black Lives Matter protesters.” It quotes a researcher about how these right-wingers were “trying to intimidate the most recent wave of BLM protesters, to stop their movement.”

The driver was a Seattle local named Dawit Kelete. But you’ll find scant mention of the driver’s ethnicity in mainstream media coverage. You might have more easily learned that Kelete was black by going to the Australian Broadcasting Corp.

Protesters Attempt to Throw Caribou Heart at GOP Senator

Liberal protesters rushed Sen. Dan Sullivan (R., Alaska) with a bloody animal heart and smeared blood on his campaign signs Saturday night.

Video captured a woman approaching Sullivan and his wife Julie during a campaign event in a hangar at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Sullivan campaign manager Matt Shuckerow noticed and rushed forward before he was blocked by another woman, whom Shuckerow threw to the ground before he reached the podium to intervene, the Alaska Landmine reported.

As she was escorted out of the event, the first woman took what looked like a moose or caribou heart out of her bag but was prevented from throwing it. Some disjointed chants of "throw it" broke out as she was brought outside, presumably referring to the heart. A third woman rushed the stage with a banner but was quickly thwarted and also escorted out.

Soros-Backed Liberal Groups Raked in Tens of Millions From PPP

At least 18 left-wing groups supported by the billionaire George Soros's liberal donor club applied for federal loans meant to help small businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, receiving up to $20 million in taxpayer cash between them.

Groups backed by the Democracy Alliance, a donor network cofounded by Soros, hauled in cash from the Paycheck Protection Program, a federal program established to provide an economic boost to small businesses and their workers during coronavirus shutdowns. Together, the groups received between $8.5 million and $20.7 million. In addition to the Democracy Alliance groups, another liberal donor network that pays the club for project services pulled in large sums from the small business relief program.

The cash influx comes as the Democracy Alliance ramps up its spending ahead of the November election. Its deep-pocketed partners mapped out a $275 million spending plan for the 2020 elections, calling into question whether groups aided by a network of millionaire and billionaire donors were in need of millions in taxpayer funds.

"The political groups that form the infrastructure of the far left rely on contributions from the country's richest millionaires and billionaires," one GOP operative said. "Now, those same groups are leaning on PPP loans while slamming the program as a handout to the rich. This shameless hypocrisy exemplifies how hollow and disingenuous their rhetoric is."

DA’s Office Drops Charges On 59 Rioters In Portland, Including Suspected Felony Arsonist

Multnomah County district attorney Rod Underhill has dropped charges on 59 people who have been arrested on suspicion of various different crimes over the last seven weeks of protests that have commonly devolved into riots. Some of these are small, petty crimes, such as Failure To Obey, which some journalists were charged with, while others are more serious felonies, including a suspected arsonist.

KGW reports:

Dozens of protesters arrested during mass demonstrations in downtown Portland have had their criminal charges dropped and cases closed.

Americans Flee the Urban Centers Following Coronavirus and BLM Protests and Riots

The CEO of Realogy Holdings which owns Century 21, Caldwell Banker and Sotheby’s International admitted this week that their companies are already seeing homebuyers flee the dense urban centers for the suburbs.

Ryan Schneider, the CEO of Realogy Holdings says the migration is due to the coronavirus. But certainly the far left mayors in America’s most populous cities and the Black Lives Matter protests and riots are contributing to the exodus.

Why pay higher taxes for a life of uncertainty, tyranny and violence?

The movement to the suburbs by Gen Y was already underway last fall.

Newsom Approves Plan to Release 8,000 Prisoners By August

If you live in California and feel safe inside your home during the coronavirus, that may soon change. Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom plans on releasing 8,000 inmates, some currently serving time for serious felonies, from the California prison system by August. Democrats like Newsom have always wanted to release prisoners, but the Wuhan coronavirus has now given them an ostensible reason to do so.

Newsom believes prisoners, who broke criminal laws, will observe CDC guidelines and practice social distancing out of concern for their fellow man. In all fairness, the freed prisoners will likely wear face masks inside banks and liquor stores.

Three separate efforts aimed at releasing 8,000 prisoners by the end of August were recently approved by the governor.

Trump Admin Tells Minnesota Governor To Get Bent Over $16 Million Aid Request Following Riots

The Trump administration has denied a request by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) for $16 million in federal aid to help rebuild widespread damage in Minneapolis caused by rioters protesting the death of George Floyd.

Late Friday, Walz spokesman Teddy Tschann confirmed that the July 2 federal aid request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was denied.

"The Governor is disappointed that the federal government declined his request for financial support," said Tschann in a statement. "As we navigate one of the most difficult periods in our state’s history, we look for support from our federal government to help us through."

Over 1,500 buildings were damaged by fires, looting and vandalism following Floyd's death on May 25 while in police custody. According to Walz, over $500 million in damages ensued.

Many small businesses and grocery stores, pharmacies and post offices were damaged during the unrest. In his letter to FEMA, Walz said what happened in the Twin Cities after Floyd’s death was the second most destructive incident of civil unrest in U.S. history, after the 1992 riots in Los Angeles.

The Walz administration conducted a preliminary damage assessment that found nearly $16 million of eligible damages related to fires. The federal funds would have been used to reimburse local governments for repairs and debris removal. -Star Tribune

150 Minneapolis Police Officers Want ‘Duty Disability’ for PTSD over Protests

At least 150 Minneapolis police officers have filed for disability, citing post-traumatic stress disorder as their reason for leaving following weeks of crime and turmoil after George Floyd’s death.

The disability claims come as the city grapples with an uptick in crime and elected officials try to dismantle the police department while trying to create a more holistic approach to public safety, the Associated Pressreported.

Attorney Ron Meuser, without mentioning George Floyd’s death and the riots that followed as the cause for the disability requests, said the past two months have “pushed many officers to their breaking point.”

“I’m seeing PTSD symptoms of officers with highly diminished capacity to live and socialize, extraordinary rates of divorce, and alcohol dependency – just to cope. It is an emotional crisis that cannot and should not continue,” he said in a statement.

Meuser noted that many of the officers filing for disability were at the Minneapolis Department’s Third Precinct the night police left the building before rioters torched the building.

The Minneapolis Police Department has come under intense scrutiny since May 25, when a white officer named Derek Chauvin kneeled on the neck of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, for eight minutes while making an arrest. Throughout this time, Floyd pleaded that he could not breathe.

Three Churches Have Burned in Just Over 24 Hours, But You Wouldn’t Know It If You Watch National News

A fire destroyed Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Elkmont, Alabama Friday night.
On Saturday a man drove into a church in Ocala, Florida, before lighting it on fire.

Next, a fire destroyed the roof of 249-Year-Old San Gabriel Mission Church in California.

Despite three churches burning across the country in just over 24 hours, you’re unlikely to have heard about it if you are only following mainstream media. It is highly unlikely that there would have been this kind of silence if the arsonists were right-wing or if they the places of worship been any other religion.

NEVER FORGET: Traitor AG Jeff Sessions Turned on Trump — Put the Country and President in Grave Danger with Attempted Coup

Jeff Sessions was sworn in on February 9, 2017 as the 87th Attorney General of the United States.

Less than a month later on March 2, 2017, AG Jeff Sessions recused himself from all of the bogus Russian investigations.

Sessions betrayed President Trump and betrayed the nation and opened up the country to over two years of a criminal and corrupt witch hunt of the 45th President of the United States.

Jeff Sessions should have resigned as Attorney General but instead allowed the president, his family, his campaign, his Transition Team, innocent men and women and the nation to be steamrolled for over two years by a criminal cabal.

LA Teachers Union Says Schools Can't Reopen Unless Charter Schools Get Shut-Down, Police Defunded

A major teachers union is claiming that the re-opening of schools in its district cannot occur without several substantial policy provisions in place, including a "moratorium" on charter schools and the defunding of local police.

United Teachers Los Angeles, a 35,000-strong union in the Los Angeles Unified School District, made those demands in a policy paper it released this week. The organization called on local authorities to "keep school campuses closed when the semester begins on Aug. 18."

The union outlined numerous major provisions it says will be necessary to reopen schools again, including sequestering students in small groups throughout the school day, providing students with masks and other forms of protective equipment, and re-designing school layouts in order to facilitate "social distancing."

Yet the union goes even farther than those requests, calling for "local support" in the form of defunded police departments and the shuttering of charter schools.

Police violence "is a leading cause of death and trauma for Black people, and is a serious public health and moral issue," the union writes. The document calls on authorities to "shift the astronomical amount of money devoted to policing, to educationand other essential needs such as housing and public health."

"Privately operated, publicly funded charter schools," meanwhile, "drain resources from district schools," the union states. The practice of "colocating" charter schools in existing structures, it continues, "adds students to campuses when we need to reduce the number of students to allow for physical distancing."

The union also demands the implementation of a federal Medicare-for-All program, several new state-level taxes on wealthy people, and a "federal bailout" of the school district.

"The benefits to restarting physical schools must outweigh the risks, especially for our most vulnerable students and school communities," the document continues.

Krogers cashiers to stop giving Customers Coin change

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - If you pay with cash at one of Kroger’s cashier checkouts, you won’t be getting coin change for a while, and it’s indirectly due to the coronavirus.

Kroger spokesperson Erin Rofles confirmed Friday the grocer will no longer return coin change to customers. Instead, the remainders from cash transactions will be applied to customers’ loyalty cards and automatically used on their next purchase.

Customers are also encouraged to ‘Round Up’ to support the company’s Zero Hunger/Zero Waster Foundation.

The reason for the change in policy, according to Rofles, has to do with the Federal Reserve’s current coin shortage.

Biden’s 2020 Party Platform Proposal Seeks to Abolish America’s Suburban Communities

Joe Biden’s radical proposal for the Democrat Party platform for 2020 seeks to put an end to America’s suburban communities by forcing low-income housing into every neighborhood and flooding every community with immigrants, legal or otherwise.

The proposal, known as the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force Recommendations, would provide instant amnesty and a pathway to U.S. citizenship for the 22 million illegal aliens now living in the nation. Astoundingly, it would also give legal status to all the world’s refugees regardless of the legitimacy of their claim to the status.

But on top of all that, Biden and Sanders are proposing that Barack Obama’s so-called Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing rules will be put into full force.

For instance, in the “executive orders” section of the platform proposal, Biden/Sanders note that Biden would, “Implement the Obama-Biden Administration’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule requiring communities receiving certain federal funding to proactively examine housing patterns and identify and address policies that have discriminatory effects.”

The Biden/Sanders platform also scolds Trump, and says Biden would “Roll back Trump Administration policies gutting fair lending and fair housing protections.”

California grandfather, 80, robbed, beaten on grocery trip

His family can’t visit him in the hospital because of coronavirus restrictions

Authorities in California on Friday released the names of a suspect and a possible accomplice being sought in connection with a brutal beating Wednesday of an 80-year-old man at a grocery store.

The attack left Roberto Lopez Flores, a grandfather of 17, hospitalized with severe facial injuries and broken ribs after he was robbed and beaten at Superior Grocers around 8:30 a.m. in the Lancaster area, about 70 miles north of Los Angeles.

Police identified the alleged attacker as Demaris Wade, 22, and the alleged accomplice as Tamika White, 33, both of whom were last seen in a 2007 Nissan Altima with California license plates, FOX 11 of Los Angeles reported.

Lopez Flores would frequently escort his wife to the grocery store to make sure she was safe. After stepping out of the checkout line to use the restroom, he was repeatedly punched and kicked in the chest, robbed of his wallet and left lying in a pool of blood, according to KABC-TV of Los Angeles.

Tennessee Senate Candidate Resigns from Board of Agriculture Firm Promoting BLM Radicalism

Bill Hagerty, a GOP candidate for U.S. Senate in Tennessee and President Donald Trump’s former U.S. ambassador to Japan, resigned on Saturday from an agriculture firm that he discovered was promoting Black Lives Matter (BLM) extremism.

Hagerty, who is endorsed and supported by President Trump, made the decision to resign from the board of R.J. O’Brien when he found out the firm was actively promoting the Marxist BLM movement.

Hagerty wrote in his resignation letter to R.J. O’Brien’s CEO Gerald Corcoran, which was obtained by Breitbart News:

I have been humbled to work with the R.J. O’Brien family and to be part of this more than century old company that has been a foundational pillar of the agricultural industry. The role that R.J. O’Brien plays in the stability and soundness of U.S. agricultural markets is vital to the future of our nation’s farmers, and I have valued being a part of that. At the same time, I have learned that the firm has promoted support for the Black Lives Matter movement, a Marxist organization that seeks to destroy the America that I know and long to support. One of the leaders of the BLM movement has said, ‘If this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it.’ And the BLM movement seeks to destroy the nuclear family, calls for violence, promotes anti-Semitism, tears down monuments, and seeks to completely defund and dismantle our police departments.

Guilfoyle: What You’re Not Being Told About Joe Biden’s Fundraising

Media reports on the June fundraising totals would have you believe that Joe Biden “tops” or “beats” President Trump. However, whoever is running Joe Biden’s campaign better keep the corks in the champagne bottles, because the truth is June was a terrible month for Joe Biden and the Democrat Party.

Joe Biden was an anemic fundraiser throughout his primary battle. A report from Politico in October of 2019 said Biden was getting “crushed” in fundraising. It argued, “Obama and Clinton’s biggest donors favor Biden, yet he still can’t match his rivals’ cash flow.” According to the report, Biden had more big-money bundlers and donors from Obama and Clinton than any of his competitors. Now, as the presumptive nominee, the rest should presumably be in his corner now, as well.

Secret CDC document says full reopening of schools and universities places Americans at 'highest risk' of spread of coronavirus despite Trump's push to reopen classrooms

A full reopening of schools, colleges and universities this fall would pose the ‘highest risk’ for the spread of the coronavirus, according to an internal document from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The findings are significant in that they clash with President Trump’s stated desire to have schools and universities resume in-person instruction despite the raging pandemic that has so far claimed more than 134,000 American lives.

The 69-page CDC document obtained by The New York Times is marked ‘For Internal Use Only.’

Guy Fieri's restaurant closed 3 days after opening due to COVID scare: report

The location is reportedly being cleaned after a worker tested positive for the virus

Now is apparently not a good time to go to Flavor Town.

Only a few days after opening, Guy Fieri’s new restaurant in Oklahoma was forced to temporarily close, reportedly due to coronavirus concerns. This comes after the restaurant's launch had already been delayed due to the pandemic.

On July 7, Choctaw Casinos and Resorts posted on its Facebook page that Fieri’s American Kitchen and Bar had officially opened at the resort in Durant, Okla. Unfortunately, the opening was apparently short-lived. The casino’s website states that the restaurant is “temporarily closed.”

On July 10, managers at the restaurant learned that one of the employees had tested positive for COVID-19, Dallas News reports. The location has reportedly closed its doors so that it can be thoroughly cleaned.

The restaurant was originally scheduled to open in April, Fox 23 reports. The restaurant reportedly features and outdoor patio and a view of the resort’s pool.

Conservatives Fight Back With ‘Go Buy Goya!’ Campaign After Company Threatened By Leftists

WOW, what a racist Trump must be, right?

It goes to show the mental illness leftists have over Trump. Most suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) Level 7, which is the highest recorded level of the disease.

MUST READ: Body Cam Transcript Tells a Different Story on the Death of George Floyd

It Now Looks Like George Floyd, Not Derek Chauvin, Killed George Floyd

The transcript from the body camera worn by J. Alexander Kueng shows clear evidence that George Floyd was suffering respiratory distress before police laid hands on him. He died from a Fentanyl overdose, not from being choked out by Minneapolis police. This news will not bring joy to the crazed, leftist mob screaming to lop off the heads of the Minneapolis police officers who stand accused of “murdering” George Floyd and little attention has been paid to the transcript since its release on July 7. I hope to correct that oversight.

First a note about Officer J. Alexander Kueng. He also is a black man. He was adopted shortly after birth by a white woman and single mother. Can’t have that story out there. Simply does not promote the meme that white Americans are inherently and irredeemably racist. How can a racist white woman be a loving mother to a black child? Racists don’t do that.

Federal government denies Minnesota aid to rebuild from riots

The federal government has denied a request from Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) for funds to rebuild North Star State following the George Floyd riots that inflicted wide-scale destruction in the Twin Cities.

Walz's spokesman Teddy Tschann confirmed that the request for federal aid was denied, as reported in The Minneapolis Star Tribune.

"As we navigate one of the most difficult periods in our state's history, we look for support from our federal government to help us through," Tschann said in a statement.

"The Governor is disappointed that the federal government declined his request for financial support from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help Minnesota rebuild after civil unrest damaged public infrastructure and caused extensive fire damage in the wake of George Floyd's death," Tschann said.

Walz had petitioned President Donald Trump on July 2 to declare parts of Minnesota as a "major disaster" due to the extensive damage to public infrastructure caused by rioting.

NYPD cop placed in headlock while trying to break up Bronx crowd

A pair of NYPD cops simply wanted to disperse a crowd gathered on a hot July night at a Bronx street corner.

But as this disturbing video shows, in an instant the two officers found themselves surrounded by angry, taunting bystanders.

And as the crowd cheered, a man they were trying to arrest put one of the two officers in a headlock — one of the very maneuvers they themselves will, under a new City Council bill, soon face misdemeanor charges for using.

“F–k him up! F–k him up!” an unidentified man who filmed the lawless encounter shouts as the suspect wraps his right arm around one of the cops’ necks.

The dangerous grip lasts a chilling four seconds, video from the July 1 melee at Grand Concourse and Morris Avenue shows.

Coronavirus question: Is a mask effective when you wear it just below your nose?

Today’s coronavirus question is answered by Dr. Henry Raymond, an associate professor and epidemiologist at the Rutgers School of Public Health, and Dr. Amisha Malhotra, an associate professor of Pediatric Infectious Disease at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Q: Is a mask effective when people wear it just below their noses?

A: No. A mask is not effective if it is worn below the nose, because respiratory droplets come from sneezing as well as coughing. Nasal secretions can contain the coronavirus in an infected person, and covering the nose can help prevent transmission since the virus can infect an individual by entry through the nasal passages. This means that if you sneeze into the open air, you can put another person at risk of being exposed to your germs. Moreover, wearing a mask over your nose not only helps others from you potentially transmitting the coronavirus, but it decreases the risk of you — the mask-wearer — from contracting it as well.

A Viewer Writes: The Wicomico County Board of Education, (WCBOE) Is Racist

The Wicomico County Board of Education sides with the Marxist anarchists and validates looters, rioters, ANTIFA, and the Black Liberation Movement (disguised as Black Lives Matter). WCBOE is anti-police and solely blames white people for the racial divide and social unrest in this country. All black people are good, and white people are bad. To them, racism is one-way (only from white people) and all black people are victims and incapable of racism. WCBOE is discriminating against white people with a mission to guilt people for their color and it's illegal. The DOJ can do nothing as it's overwhelmed as this is happening all across our country.

Larry Hogan, the Republican governor of a solidly Democratic state, who has drawn attention for his criticism of President Trump’s coronavirus response, writes at length about the experience.

WASHINGTON — Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland, a popular Republican governor who has drawn national attention for publicly challenging President Trump on the coronavirus, announced on Tuesday that he was starting a virtual book tour for his new memoir, elevating his profile as he considers a presidential run in 2024.

Mr. Hogan, who flirted publicly last year with a primary challengeagainst Mr. Trump, instead took the helm of the National Governors Association, where in recent months he has been at the forefront of an often fraught relationship between the Trump administration and governors around the country struggling to confront the pandemic. Mr. Hogan, 64, recounts the experience at length in his book, and said that it had reinforced his interest in seeking the presidency.

“After this November election is over, regardless of who wins, there are a large majority of Americans who are completely convinced our political system is fundamentally broken, and they’re going to be looking for something different,” Mr. Hogan said in an interview about the memoir, titled “Still Standing: Surviving Cancer, Riots, a Global Pandemic and the Toxic Politics that Divide America,” which is to be released on July 28.

“We have an election coming up — we’ll see what happens there — but I’ve been leading the nation’s governors through one of the biggest crises in our lifetime,” he added.

Paris: Notre Dame to Be Rebuilt Without Modern Look

Notre Dame Cathedral will be rebuilt just the way it stood before last year's devastating fire.

No swimming pool or organic garden on the roof of the medieval Paris monument, or contemporary glass spire, or other modern twists. And to stay historically accurate, it will again be built with potentially toxic lead.

That's the verdict reached by French President Emmanuel Macron, the cathedral's present-day architects and the general in charge of the colossal reconstruction project for one of the world's most treasured landmarks.

Macron, who wants Notre Dame reopened in time for the 2024 Olympics, had initially pushed for a contemporary touch atop the cathedral, prompting eye-catching proposals from architects around the world.

But Macron came around to the traditionalists' argument, and approved reconstruction plans for the 12th century monument that were presented Thursday, according to a statement from state agency overseeing the project.

Harris Passes Funding for Invasive Blue Catfish Inspections

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) successfully passed an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2021Agriculture Appropriations bill that would provide $1 million in funding to pay for USDA mandated inspections of wild caught invasive species, including the blue catfish. The blue catfish is threatening the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem and is not native to the Bay.

Congressman Harris made the following statement:

"I am pleased that the Appropriations Committee adopted my amendment to the Agriculture Appropriations Bill providing $1 million in funding for the inspection of the wild caught blue catfish invasive species, including in the Chesapeake Bay. This amendment will reduce significant burdens on our watermen seeking to catch, and bring to market, these edible invasive fish, and serves both economic and conservation objectives. My amendment responds to concerns from fishermen and Bay conservation advocates that the requirement that fishermen pay for on-site USDA inspectors is not affordable or practical, and creates a disincentive to removing this destructive species from the Bay. This funding will further our goals of conservation of the Bay while allowing a product to be brought to market that is both plentiful and commercially in demand.”

Harris Builds on Previous Efforts to Prevent Youth Substance Abuse by Leading New Bill

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced he has become an original co-sponsor of the Drug-Free Communities Pandemic Relief Act, which was introduced in the House of Representatives today. This bill would help support the Drug Free Communities (DFC) Support Program, which mobilizes and provides grants to community coalitions working to prevent and reduce youth substance and opioid use. The bill would permit the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) to waive certain cost-sharing requirements, due to the extraordinary impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and ensure communities are not penalized during these unprecedented times.

Congressman Harris issued the following statement:

“I have been a consistent supporter of the Drug Free Communities Support Program, and Maryland’s First District has benefited tremendously from the services offered by both the program and the coalitions receiving grants. This past October, I announced four grants totaling half a million dollars to local coalitions under this program in the District – Cecil County for the Cecily County Drug-Free Communities Coalition; Bayshore Community Counseling Services, Inc. in Crisfield for the Crisfield Community Prevention Works Drug Free Coalition; 360 Degree Development Institute, Inc. in Pocomoke for the Somerset Prevention Works Drug Free Coalition; and Community Services and Research Center in Pocomoke for the Pocomoke City Drug Free Coalition. And in December, I announced a fifth grantee award to Mosaic Community Services, Inc., for the Berlin Prevention Works Coalition for Drugs and Alcohol-Free Communities.

Fighting the opioid epidemic has been and continues to be a top priority for me in Congress. As a physician and father of six children, I am committed to ensuring our local, rural families and communities continue to receive these needed resources now more than ever. The flexibility provided under this bill, especially when the COVID pandemic and subsequent lockdowns are likely to have exacerbated the issue of addiction in certain households, will help to ensure these strong community coalitions continue to protect our youth against opioids, marijuana, alcohol, and nicotine, and I am proud to be an original cosponsor.”

Band formerly known as Lady Antebellum sues black singer Lady A after taking her name

The country group formerly known as Lady Antebellum changed their name to Lady A last month, apologizing for "the hurt" caused by their original band moniker due to its association with "the period of history before the Civil War, which includes slavery."

But a black gospel and blues artist, Anita White—who has used the stage name Lady A for decades—protested over Lady Antebellum's decision to hijack her brand. Now, the country group is suing White to be sure they can perform as Lady A without her claiming trademark infringement.
What are the details?

The group Lady A, comprised of members Dave Haywood, Hillary Scott, and Charles Kelley, said in a statement Wednesday:
Today we are sad to share that our sincere hope to join together with Anita White in unity and common purpose has ended. She and her team have demanded a $10 million payment, so reluctantly we have come to the conclusion that we need to ask a court to affirm our right to continue to use the name Lady A, a trademark we have held for many years. It was a stirring in our hearts and reflection on our own blindspots that led us to announce a few weeks ago that we were dropping the word 'Antebellum' from our name and moving forward using only the name so many of our fans already knew us by.

According to the lawsuit obtained by Pitchfork, the band holds federally registered trademarks for the brand names "Lady Antebellum" and "Lady A," and the group "started using 'Lady A' as a source indicator for their goods and services as early as 2006-2007."

Don Lemon once ripped 'absent fathers' in black communities and 'thug' behavior glorified in 'rap culture'

He even agreed with then-Fox News host Bill O'Reilly on the subject

CNN host Don Lemon is well known for his far-left points of view anddeep embrace of the Black Lives Matter movement, which is pushing hard to defund police around the country. Lemon earlier this week practically laughed off skyrocketing crime rates in big cities as police back off from doing their jobs and even look to quit altogether due to mounting forces against them:

Tonight on @CNN, @ChrisCuomo & @donlemon mocked the “right wing” media for claiming that crime is rising in US citi… https://t.co/34kAIE5Xsh— Reagan Battalion (@Reagan Battalion)1594176311.0

But Lemon didn't always present himself this way.

Case in point is a 2013 CNN video showing Lemon shining the spotlight on problems in the black community — and actually agreeing with then-Fox News host Bill O'Reilly on the subject.
What are the details?

Lemon aired a partial clip of O'Reilly saying, "The reason there is so much violence and chaos in the black precincts is the disintegration of the African-American family."

Lemon cut back to himself interjecting, "He's got a point. In fact, he's got more than a point. Bill?"

Wells Now Demands Clients Who Refi Jumbo Mortgages Have At Least A $1 Million Balance

The virus-induced recession has mortgage lenders quickly steering away from traditional clients, as fears abound that lost income could result in a massive wave of mortgage defaults. So that's why Wells Fargo is tightening mortgage standards for new clients and laying off thousands of jobs.

More specifically, sources told CNBC that Wells Fargo is now requesting new clients who want to refinance jumbo mortgages to have at least a $1 million balance, up from the previous threshold of $250,000.

"The change came in a July 1 overhaul of lending guidelines that broadly lowered barriers to the product for existing customers, while making it far harder for new ones to qualify," said the source.

Wells Fargo, the largest U.S. mortgage lender, has been pressured by the economic downturn and a Federal Reserve cap on its balance sheet to rein in operations. The bank hasn't been able to expand its balance sheet due to regulatory constraints tied to scandals in 2016.

The bank reduced its footprint in the jumbo loan market in April. Back then, jumbos yielded 3.68%, 30 bps higher than the average conventional rate. The reason? Well, banks tightened lending standards and shunned making any new jumbo loans because they weren't government guaranteed.

Stanley Middleman, chief executive officer of Freedom Mortgage Corp., explained the pullback in jumbo loan making in April:

"Much of this pullback is because investors who'd normally buy these loans no longer want them. Whether the assets are good or not good is irrelevant because there's no liquidity to buy them," said Middleman.

Wells Fargo is by far one of the largest jumbo loan holders, producing about $70 billion of the mortgages last year.

Policing Protests Propel Marijuana Decriminalization Efforts

Supporters of marijuana legalization rally at New York City Hall last November. Recent anti-racism protests have led some lawmakers to redouble their efforts to liberalize marijuana laws.Gabriele Holtermann-Gorden/Sipa USA via AP Images

Georgia’s strict drug laws encourage police officers to search for drugs during otherwise routine interactions, such as traffic stops, said Georgia state Sen. Harold Jones II, a Democrat and former prosecutor. That increases the odds of encounters escalating and turning violent.

“I just see so many interactions between police and citizens that are based on drug interactions — trying to find narcotics,” said Jones, who has put forward a bill that would reduce penalties for possessing small amounts of marijuana.

“We as legislators are putting [police] in that situation,” he said, “because we’re demanding that they enforce this.”

Lawmakers and advocates who want to legalize marijuana, reduce penalties for possession or clear people’s criminal records of pot-related offenses have argued for years that drug policy is a social justice issue.

Now, as protests against racism and aggressive policing of Black and Hispanic neighborhoods sweep the nation, some lawmakers are making a related argument: Reducing marijuana penalties would reduce unnecessary confrontations between police and minority residents.

NY Archdiocese Closing 20 Catholic Schools; 6 Schools In Brooklyn Diocese Won't Reopen

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The Archdiocese of New York announced Thursday that 20 Catholic schools will not reopen and three other schools will merge due to low enrollment amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The archdiocese said it has seen a significantly low rate of re-registration for the fall because of ongoing health concerns and mass unemployment which has resulted in families being unable to pay tuition.

The cancellation of masses has also hurt the archdiocese's ability to support schools.

“Children are always the most innocent victims of any crisis, and this COVID-19 pandemic is no exception,” said Timothy Cardinal Dolan Archbishop of New York. “Too many have lost parents and grandparents to this insidious virus, and now thousands will not see their beloved school again. I’ve kept a hopeful eye on our schools throughout this saga and my prayers are with all of the children and their families who will be affected by this sad news. Given the devastation of this pandemic, I’m grateful more schools didn’t meet this fate, and that Catholic schools nearby are ready to welcome all the kids.”

The decision to shutter the schools will impact about 2,500 students and 350 staff.

“The reality of these schools being lost is painful, and it was only accepted reluctantly after a detailed study was conducted of their respective fiscal standing in the wake of the coronaviruspublic health crisis,” said Superintendent of Schools Michael J. Deegan. “I have been a Catholic school educator for more than 40 years, and could never have imagined the grave impact this pandemic has had on our schools. If more assistance is not forthcoming in the longed for HEROES Act now before Congress, I am afraid even more might close. This is a very sad day for everyone in the extended Catholic school community. I send my love and prayers to the families, teachers, principals and staff of the affectedschools.”

Virginia School District Develops New ‘Anti-Racist’ Curriculum Shaped by Southern Poverty Law Center

Teachers in Virginia's largest school district have developed a new "anti-racist" and "culturally responsible" curriculum that will be available to students as early as this fall.

Social studies teachers from Fairfax County collaborated with other Virginia public school teachers to revamp their history curriculum, using a framework from Teaching Tolerance, the educational arm of the liberal nonprofit Southern Poverty Law Center. The new curriculum encourages students to "examine materials, events, and institutions critically attending to power, position, and bias" and will be available for use in 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 11th-grade classrooms.

Colleen Eddy, Fairfax County Public Schools social studies coordinator, said the new curriculumaddresses the "overrepresentation of white and Eurocentric history" and the lack of "diverse perspectives" in education. Eddy singled out the district's U.S. history courses in particular, for which she says African-American history "deserves a truer and fuller account."

Teaching Tolerance’s list of "Essential Knowledge" for third through fifth grade students includes teaching that "the United States was founded on protecting the interests of white, Christian men who owned property." It also says slavery was foundational to the growth of the U.S. economy and the country’s founding documents were created to protect the institution of slavery.

Southern Poverty Law Center, known for including conservative organizations on its list of "hate groups," created Teaching Tolerance to promote "anti-bias" and "social justice" education in classrooms.

Virginia’s social studies curriculum is due to be revised in 2022 and is currently being reviewed by Gov. Ralph Northam’s (D.) commission on African American History Education.

TILT: PolitiFact Angrily Obsesses Over Trump on 'Fact Checks,' Goes Soft on Biden

Public opinion polls show a dramatic difference of opinion on the reliability of so-called "fact checking" groups. A 2019 Pew Research Center poll found 70 percent of Republicans believe these groups favor one side, while only 29 percent of Democrats agreed.

The Republicans aren't wrong. A review of fact-checking patterns shows a dramatic difference in "fact-checking" aggression.

Take PolitiFact. In 2017 and 2018, the Media Research Center found PolitiFact's dominant target was President Trump, with 297 evaluations -- and of those, 209 (69 percent) were rated on their "Truth-O-Meter" as "Mostly False" or "False" or "Pants on Fire."

Since then, the tilt has only gotten more negative!

A new MRC study of PolitiFact articles from January 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020 finds Trump is still their favorite "fact-checking" punching bag. Trump was evaluated on 172 occasions, and 132 of those (77.6 percent) were "Mostly False" or worse. There were 23 "Half True" ratings (13 percent) and 15 "Mostly True" or "True" marks (less than 9 percent).

By contrast, Joe Biden was the subject of only 51 articles with a rating, and only 23 of those (45 percent) were "Mostly False" or worse. There were 10 "Half True" ratings (20 percent) and 18 "Mostly True" or "True" checks (35 percent).

Antifa in Tears: The Fragility of the Woke

Publishers Notes: The last paragraph is worth the one minute read.

A TikTok video that recently went viral on social media showed a recent Harvard graduate threatening to stab anyone who said, “all lives matter.” In her melodrama, she tried to sound intimidating with her histrionics.

She won a huge audience as she intended. But her video also came to the attention of the company that was going to give her an internship later this summer, Deloitte, which decided it didn’t want to add an intern who threatened to kill strangers who said something she didn’t like.

This wouldn’t have been much of a story. But then the narcissistic Harvard alum posted a very different video — one that showed her weeping in a near-fetal position.

She fought back tears while complaining how unfair the world had been to her. Her initial TikTok post had earned cruel pushback from the social media jungle she had courted. Deloitte, she sobbed, was mean and hurtful. And she wanted the world to share her pain.

The Harvard grad instantly became an unwitting poster girl for the current protest movement and the violence that has accompanied it. What turns off millions of Americans about the statue toppling, the looting, the threats, and the screaming in the faces of police is the schizophrenic behavior of so many of the would-be revolutionaries.

On one hand, those toppling statues or canceling their own careers on the internet pose as vicious Maoists — the hard-core shock troops of the revolution. Their brand is vile profanity, taunts to police, firebombs, and spray paint.

Forget Plague, Riots, and Socialism: Vote-By-Mail Will Be the Death of the Republic

Vote-by-mail is the devil

It’s valid for those of us on the right to be concerned about the fate of our beloved country, especially in this strangest of years. We are, after all, facing a host of problems: the coronavirus pandemic, the successful radical leftist indoctrination of two generations of public school kids, and the resulting lust for socialism on the American left resulting from that.

There is also the fact that the idiot lefties are trying to ruin sports, entertainment, and even hamburgers, but we’ll have to save that for another day.

When I survey the 2020 landscape trying to ascertain what is most detrimental to the future of the United States of America, I easily settle on one thing: the push to make vote-by-mail (or mail-in voting) the norm.

Vote-by-mail is a systematic fraud-fest. I’ve long been a critic and will continue to be one until mail-in ballots elect a commie president who sends me to a reeducation camp. Even then, I’ll probably act up a little. I firmly believe that the only people who need to vote by mail are deployed military or people who are expatriated due to work. Yes, some people will need absentee ballots here at home, but there should be a very strict process for applying for one.

I know that sounds a little hardcore, but I’m sticking with it. Heck, I don’t even like early voting. Your reasons why I shouldn’t are invalid.

Adult in the Room: Ford CEO Responds to Employees' Demands to Stop Making Police Vehicles

Publishers Notes: Employees, please STFU and earn your $90,000 per year by building whatever the owners tell you to build. Leave your politics at home. Union, stay out of things that don't concern you.
Jalopnik reports that a group of Ford Motor Company employees want the auto giant to stop making vehicles for police.

Ford employees have asked the automaker to stop building police cars, according to a Jalopnik report published Wednesday. The request comes as countless Black Lives Matter protests continue throughout America and around the globe, sparked by the killing of George Floyd.

Jalopnik fails to report that since the protests devolved into riots and “defund the police” swept across the nation, violent crime and murder have surged in several major cities, including New York, Chicago, Baltimore, and Seattle.

The employee letter is typical of the anti-police hysteria of our moment:

“Throughout history, the vehicles that Ford employees design and build have been used as accessories to police brutality and oppression,” workers wrote in a letter to Ford CEO Jim Hackett and Chairman Bill Ford, according to Jalopnik. “We know that while many join, support or supply law enforcement with good intentions, these racist policing practices that plague our society are historic and systemic — a history and system perpetuated by Ford for over 70 years — ever since Ford introduced the first-ever police package in 1950. As an undeniable part of that history and system, we are long overdue to ‘think and act differently’ on our role in racism.”

All these demand notes sound the same. They have a similar ominous and accusatory voice and style. Serious question: Who is writing them? The mainstream media never turns over that particular rock.

Ford CEO Jim Hackett has a strong response:

“By taking away our Police Interceptors, we would be doing harm to their safety and making it harder for them to do their job. Again, this is why, given our insights, new capabilities and leadership, I believe these unfortunate circumstances present Ford with an even greater opportunity to not only innovate new solutions but also leverage our unique position to support the dialogue and reform needed to create safer communities for all.”

University Of Delaware Sued Over Biden's Hidden Senate Records

A lawsuit has been filed against the University of Delaware to try and force the college to hand over Joe Biden's Senate Records, which are housed at the university's library.

Biden, who graduated from the University of Delaware and served as Delaware's senator, transferred the records to the university in 2011 - which announced a change to their expected unsealing shortly before Biden announced his bid for the White House. Meanwhile, Biden has refused to allow a search of the roughly 1,875 boxes of documents and 415 gigabytes of electronic records.

Biden's excuse? That the records could expose unrelated things he's said or done which could be 'taken out of context' and used against him before the November election.

The lawsuit, brought under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by Judicial Watch on behalf of themselves and the Daily Caller News Foundation, was filed in the Superior Court of the State of Delaware. It follows a denial of April 30 requests for Biden's records, as well as records about the preservation - and proposed release, of documents.

The records came to light in early May, after questions over material related to Biden sexual assault accuser Tara Reade might be contained within the records.

This Is A Great Opportunity To Destroy Academia

Never let a good crisis go to waste, which in the current crisis means we must use the fact that our universities have shown themselves to be petri dishes swimming with anti-American ideologies, combined with pre-existing trends, to lance this particular cultural boil.

Let’s be clear: Academia today is a pack of rabid reds, and we need to put it down like Old Yeller. And academia itself has loaded up the 12 gauge.

They will say that we oppose academia because we are stupid Neanderthals, just like Trump is (That’s Lie #2 in my new book!). No. We would be stupid to let this undead institution on. This entire wokeness idiocy is the result of hack academics peddling half-baked theories that justify the consolidation of elite power at the expense of those of us who don’t live on the diploma dole. The bizarre language – “We must struggle to decolonialize the cisnormative paradigm to purge the structural racism caused by the male gaze and amplify whiny, entitled voices” – and the performance art aspects of the media-friendly insurrection – notice how they only get frisky in jurisdictions where they can count on the pinko mayor to hold back the constables and on the local DA to merely slap their wrists? – is all a direct result of indoctrination in the colleges that we normal people support.

Why should we do that? We have no moral obligation to subsidize a generation of brats.

Report: Democrat Mark Kelly Helped Secure Chinese Tech Giant’s Funding

A report in RealClearPolitics (RCP) claims Democrat senatorial candidate Mark Kelly (AZ) helped secure a Chinese tech giant’s funds for his company.

Kelly is the co-founder of a space exploration company called World View.

RCP reports on investments into World View which were made by Tencent, “the world’s largest internet enterprises and the owner of the popular Chinese social media platform WeChat,”

RCP notes

In the fall of 2014, Jane Poynter, the then-CEO of World View Enterprises, announced during a visit to Beijing that Tencent had invested an undisclosed sum in the Tucson-based venture. In April 2016, as part of a subsequent, $15 million investment round, World View announced that it had received more funds from Tencent, along with three other venture capital firms.

RCP points to Chinese news reports suggesting the Kelly was integral to securing the funds from Tencent.

RCP cites an article originally published in Mandarin in the Oriental Morning Post. The article says, “Tencent American leader named David met Mark Kelly, a space pilot of our team.”

NYT Accuses Tucker Carlson of ‘Nativist Smears’ as It Continues to Employ Individuals with History of Racist Statements

The New York Times on Wednesday took issue with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson over his criticisms of far-left lawmakers, accusing him of unleashing “nativist smears.” The attempted lecture comes as the Times continues to employ several individuals — from editors to fact-checkers — who have made waves with racist utterances of their own.

The Times took specific issue with Carlson’s recent critiques of Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) after the conservative firebrand suggested that she and many of those within her caucus “actually hate America.” He renewed those criticisms on Tuesday night.

“There are many of us here who do like this country,” Carlson said, emphasizing that “we live here.”

“We don’t want to destroy it. We have every right to fight to preserve our nation and our heritage and our culture,” he said.

“And when vandals like Tammy Duckworth and Ilhan Omar tell us that we’re not allowed to question their patriotism, even as they scream about how horrible America is, we have every right to laugh in their faces, and we should,” Carlson added.

The Times described Carlson’s defense of American patriotism as “nativist attacks on Democratic women of color,” contending that the “attacks” are “hardly new” for Carlson and President Trump.

Poll: BLM riots 'boosting' Trump among voters

Biden could make in competitive only by avoiding any 'senior moment'

A new poll of likely voters indicates the Black Lives Matter riots are boosting President Trump's chances of winning the November election.

The The poll by the Washington based think tank Democracy Institute and the Sunday Express of London found that while both Trump and presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden have 47% support, Trump would win in the Electoral College by 309 to 229, because he is on course to win the swing states of Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

The Expres said the "fallout from the Black Lives Matter protests in the U.S. offers Donald Trump his best chance of winning the presidential election."

On key issues:

A huge 71% of respondents prefer "all lives matter" to "black lives matter."

And 74% disapproved of rioters pulling down statues of historic figures.

Seventy-seven percent disagreed with the assertion supported by many Democratic politicians that Mount Rushmore "is racist."

Hey BLM/NFL – The Negro Black Anthem’s Author, Denounced Democrats For Lynching Blacks!

The National Football League (NFL) was a national treasure for decades, as each generation would look forward to watching their favorite team hit the field. With a call for more, ABC started Monday Night Football, September 21, 1970.

As with most things, the league got too big for its britches leading to some sexual discrimination charges and terminations. Then came the steroid usage fall out, increasing crime/arrests of their players, and complaints about the concussions. Recently though the league has catered to the Social Justice Mobs, such as Colin Kaepernick and BLM.

No longer a national treasure for millions, the latest version of the NFL allows players to insult their fans by kneeling during the US national anthem. And now to appease the mobs, will be playing a poem, put to music, later called the “Negro National Anthem”, before the US national anthem, before every game in week one of their season.

Not everyone agrees with the league’s decision.

A Viewer Writes: County Council Grab For Power Continues

If anybody bothered to watch the County Council meeting on Tuesday evening it showed direct proof of the Councils continued efforts to strip power away from the County Executive. Since the People were tired of the Council being both legislative and executive branches of government just by turning their hats around, the People adopted a County Executive form of government. The Council hated it then and hates it now because it took power away from them. They set out on a way to return a lot of that power back to them. They do this by continually adding Charter Amendments through resolutions to amend the Charter.

Tuesday night showed a good example. Once again a number of resolutions were on the table to amend the Charter. In the grants program after it is given to the county the Council now wants to put restrictions on how it is managed. Councilman Davis saw right through this farce and asked why did we have to try and put restrictions on a program that we have had no problems with. The answer of course was to take more power away from the Executive. However, three council members argued for half an hour trying to justify this decision. It was finally put aside so that our Council attorney could trying to write in worlds to make it fit into their agenda. Here are the BUZZ words that the Council likes to use to justify their hidden agenda. They will always say," This is for greater transparency and accountability for the People". What a load of BS.
These amendment actions are continuously being done and both parties are doing it. "How dare the People Take Power Away From Us. We are the County Council". There are two councilmen who have been really pushing this. Can anyone name them and give the reasons why they are doing this? I can. But what about you, the taxpayers. You voted for a County Executive form of government and the Council is telling you that isn't what "THEY" want. Can you stop this? Sure you can. I know how but are you really interested in this or do you just want to sit on the sidelines watching tv and doing nothing. Wait until your next big tax hike. Bet you'll be interested then.

On "LevinTV" this week, host Mark Levin reacted to a Campus Reformvideo in which students fail spectacularly to answer some of the most basic questions about America's founding, such as what year our country declared independence, which nation we declared independence from, and what war was fought for American independence.

While most of the students couldn't even come close to answering these questions, they were quick to assert that America is a racist country "built off of slavery."

"This will frighten you," Levin said of the video. "They [students] know a whole lot about so-called systemic racism, so-called systemic inequality, so-called systemic injustice. They know about all the warts and vices in our past, but they won't know about the greatness of the country because they're not taught about [that]."

Levin noted how much the average American pays through taxes for the public school systems, which have been nationalized by "har-core left-wing Democrat operations" such as the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, while parents often have absolutely no insight into or say about what is taught in our country's classrooms.
