Iowa man accused of forcing woman to watch Roots to 'better understand her racism'

Police in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, have arrested a black man after a woman claimed he abducted her and forced her to watch the nine-hour 1977 miniseries Roots to combat "her racism."

Robert Lee Noye, 52, was arrested Monday on charges of first-degree harassment and false imprisonment.

The woman told police that Noye made her sit and watch the miniseries, which chronicles the journey of a family brought to America through the slave trade, “so she could better understand her racism.”

What better way to make friends with white people than to beat and kidnap them?

If you don't like stereotypes, stop fulfilling them.
