SB Nation sports bloggers laid off due to restrictive new California law

Vox Media-owned SB Nation said it is laying off 200 sports bloggers in California due to a restrictive new law aimed at stopping tech companies from taking advantage of “gig economy” workers.

John Ness, executive director of SB Nation, broke news of the layoffs in a post on his own site, which he sarcastically titled “Thank You California” for that state’s law seeking to force companies like Uber and Lyft to classify their drivers as employees rather than contractors.

Ness started off by thanking his army of California bloggers, who he said helped write thousands of stories covering 25 pro and college sports teams. But the state’s new independent contractor laws will bar them from contributing more than 35 stories a year to the site, he explained.

California used to lead the way on just about everything now they have turned into a bunch of leftist traitors. Screw them.
