Treasury watchdog to review Harriet Tubman $20 bill delay decision

The U.S. Treasury's watchdog has confirmed it plans to review the decision behind delaying a new $20 bill featuring Harriet Tubman.

Treasury's Acting Inspector General Rich Delmar said in a letter to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer that the office would include Schumer's request for an investigation focusing on the delay into a broader audit that's about to get underway.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told a congressional committee last month that a redesign of the $20 featuring Tubman would have to be delayed and the new bills would not be out until 2028.

The redesign featuring the abolitionist leader was initially scheduled by the Obama administration to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote.

I guess I have to do your research for you ? Are you spending too much time on EBT Welfare ? Taubman had numerous WARRENTS for her Arrest by judges back then In 2019 she would be considered a TERRORIST for what she did back then.

1:19. You are right. People here really should research her. I really hadn’t paid much attention to this until today and I spent a couple of hours reading about Harriet Tubman’s life story. It’s really remarkable what she managed to do under terrible circumstances. It’s hard to imagine many folks today having the fortitude to accomplish what she did her lifetime.

Here is the better question:

Why is the Treasury determined to get the public to stop using Twenty Dollar bills?

Hmmmm

Our founding fathers were treasonous criminals in the eyes of the crown, yet revered in our national history. The Boston Tea Party was treason, yet these men are heroes. By the way the word is warrants not warrents, and we are talking about Tubman not Taubman.

Good question 6:02
