CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. (WJZ) — The wild ponies on Chincoteague were moved to the south corral over the weekend after local officials said visitors broke the rules around interacting with the horses.
According to the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce, the fire company moved Riptide and his band after visitors approached the ponies and tried to feed them.
“The ponies will remain there until Spring Roundup on April 12-13 because onlookers continue to disregard the three simple rules that are in place to keep them safe and the ponies in their natural habitat for all to enjoy,” the chamber posted on its Facebook page.

Some damn fools always have to spoil things, I swear.
Why do some people always think the rules were never meant for them. There are a reason for the rules, dumb a$$es.
MD should do the same thing and if caught there should be a $2000 find and never allowed back on the Island. If caught back on the Island an automatic 60 days in jail with no bond.
Why can't they be arrested?
Plenty of large sings clearly state there is a financial penalty for doing this. Do it a couple of times and the word will get out.
The next time some little kid gets kicked in the head...
They need to stay up in Joisey, New York and PA, and stay out of here.
The ponies are all sick this is a ploy to get them healthy enough for the auction. I'd like to see the numbers on how many actually live long lives after being bought. I've known two families over the years that have bought them and neither made it past two.
