Family: Police covering up Eastern Shore man's death

GREENSBORO, Md. — An Eastern Shore family is claiming multiple law enforcement agencies are covering up a man's death.

Several family members gathered outside the New Beginning United Methodist Church in Caroline County very emotional, sad and angry over the death of brother, cousin and son, Anton Black.

Black, 19, died Sept. 15, 2018, during an altercation with Greensboro police.

"They lynched my son. They lynched him. They didn't do it with a rope, they did it with their arms. No reason for that. He was 150 pounds and they killed him," said Black's father, Antone Black.

According to Maryland State Police, which took over the investigation, police officers approached Anton Black after a report of a possible kidnapping involving a 12-year-old boy.

According to the police report, Anton Black was dragging the boy, and when asked if they were related, the boy said no.

Greensboro police Officer Thomas Webster is the at the center of the case. The Caroline County State's Attorney's Office released on Wednesday a written timeline of Webster's body-worn camera video.

Not sure what happened but don't do things that require the police to come hint hint and you don't have to worry about any of this. How does it become the police departments fault when someone does a suspected crime and the police get called best thing to do is the right thing and don't break the law. Not justifying anyone's actions the police or the person that died but all this could have been avoided by just doing the right thing and not having the police show up in the first place.

I don't think casting aspersions on ethnicity is warranted; however I do agree with 5:27 AM that some are very quick to seek reparations as "victims" regardless of illegal acts by perpetrators. Time is long past to accept responsibility for actions regardless of race.

Sounds a little like a Trayvon Martin copy cat , the family wants some money because they screwed up raising this wonderful son , NOT!!!

She needsto lookup the definition of "lynching". This word is a black fighting word same as racist. Over used to support an agenda such as law suit.

I'm starting to believe that this is the face of America's "typical" black family.

Thank God the officer was wearing a body cam. Imagine that another black family trying to file a bogus lawsuit because Anton was breaking the law. They didn't want you to know he suffered from an existing cardiac condition and died of just that cardiac arrest. GO FIGURE

You have people running around with severe mental illness. Back in the day they were locked up in compounds but now they run a muck and there is nothing the system is allowed to do. Running was like an admission of guilt when he should have stayed and explained himself. His mother certainly didn't sound like she was witnessing the "lynching" of her son.

That said the police have become like a military against the American people. 5 men twice that boys size on top of him, he is in cuffs and they say "We don't have complete control of him". What do you need 5 more of you?! "Where are your leg shackles?" "They are right next to my stack of AR-15 magazines". They know how to escalate a situation to lead to just cause for an arrest because it is part of their training. They are trained to use choke techniques that will leave them without any legal repercussions.

The police have gone to far, and maybe in this situation they were just within their legal protections but what this family is claiming is not some out of the blue claim with no history backing it.

The thing is there are no solutions to these problems. Anything we do to control those with mental illness would be a violation of those peoples rights and could some day be used against sane people for some political or religious bias. Anything you do to limit the police ends up backfireing when they do end up in some situation like the Hollywood bank heist and they end up sitting ducks.
The only solution I see is Anarchy.

Ignorant azz people. He was dragging a child down the street. You idiots. He got what he deserved. He died as a result of running from the police. He brought on his own death. Deal with it, fool.

8:25 There is a sentance already on the books for running from the police. The judge would not deliver a death sentence but the police often do.
