West Virginia Democratic Candidate Was Pagan Witchcraft Cult Leader

A Democratic candidate for the West Virginia House of Delegates was an active leader in pagan witchcraft, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Lissa Lucas rose through the ranks of a Wiccan cult to its third level — the highest stage for most Wiccan cults — and instructed lower-level Wiccans in occult practices, TheDCNF’s investigation found.

Lucas’s campaign has raised more than five times as much money as her Republican opponent, thanks in part to national media attention that has left out Lucas’s witchcraft.

She authored two books on casting pagan spells, writing under the name Llysse Smith Wylle.

Did I miss something?

Isn't it law that there is no religious test for office?

Unless I have it wrong, doesn't America guarantee religious liberty for all?

This article is CLEARLY being used to discredit and otherwise qualified candidate via fear tactics, not focusing on the issues or what her stance on the issues are... this is what a tyrannical religious majority does, and the article hopes to use that privilege to discourage votes.

Look back at the law. No religious test. Religious freedom for All. THAT is America.

This kind of politics is shameful.

Paganism is no more cult than Christianity is, and it pre-dates Christianity.

So you'd be for a Mayan candidate who advocated a certain amount of ritual slaughter?

Or someone with a Spartan heritage who left the infirm out in the weather to die?

Or those who mutilate young girls to ensure they have reduced sexual pleasure?

Thanks for clarifying that. It's not required to have beliefs, but it is fair game to evaluate and make judgements or draw conclusions about known activities of both candidates and regular folks you come into contact with.

The blind acceptance of any/all practices or beliefs is a false equivalency, and it is a major shortfall in the thought process, such as it is, of many. Would you prefer Saudi justice over our system this week? Thought not.

@11:30

Anyone participating in illegal activities, as you pointed out, would be disqualified for office. I can't see murderers getting elected. They wouldn't get arrested for their religion, they would get arrested for KILLING someone.

What illegal activities are you proposing are connected to Pagans? As this article doesn't really point that out now does it?

What is it about a Pagan that would disqualify them from being fit for office, other than they are not Christian?

And ANYONE who mutilates Boys or Girls genitals is a monster, I can't fathom why you would leave boys off your list?
