'Colored people' remark prompts DNC member's departure

A member of the Democratic National Committee resigned Wednesday after referring to African-Americans as “colored people” during a party meeting.

John Parker, a Duval County (Fla.) Democratic state committeeman, apologized for what he described as a “hurtful” term and announced his immediate resignation.

“I understand my error perpetuates divisiveness and does not allow us an opportunity for the important types of meaningful discourse — a conversation our party must engage in sooner rather than later — that help us grow as individuals and a party protecting the dignity of all people,” he said in a statement, Politico reported.

“I take responsibility for my mistake and as such is the impetus of my decision,” he added. “I resign for the good of my Party and all those who are fighting so hard for a better world than the one we are in now.”

This is ludicrous coming from a non-democrat. Society has gone out of control with PC.

"Colored People" was coined to replace Negroes and Niggers as I recall and was fully accepted by Black People back then. "Colored" was also used, then it went to "Black". Then "People of Color came about.

All the while, the Blacks went back to using "Nigger" to describe themselves to this very day.

So much for 50+ years of racial advancement of the Black or whatever race. Martin is rolling over in his grave.

The whole deal is to keep racism alive for the only way a Black race can advance is by promoting reverse discrimination.

Discrimination can't happen unless we're held "not equal", right?

Colored people is not a bad term. If so then what does NAACP stand for. Hint it not for African american

and as dumb as this whole thing is, what about that great rescue phrase, I just misspoke.

Because honestly that (colored) was once a much more respectful term than the alternative. The English language went from (STOP-TRIGGER WARNING) niggers to
coloreds to blacks to African-Americans, and so now saying "colored people" disqualifies you. WE ARE TOAST!

Times and language have changed even though it runs contrary to today's leftist agenda.

You cannot help but laugh at his cowardice.

There are white people from South Africa would can be considered African American....someone at the NAACP want to elaborate? Attorney Mosby is known to read this site - sure would like to hear her take?

At the end of the day, we all just need to get along! We never will, but things would be nicer for all!

I don't know what the big deal is about color people. White folks are colored people after a good tan. Some stay colored year round.
