A Viewer Writes: What's Wrong With This?

Yesterday on my way to Willards, rt 50, was headed east bound, made turn to main st ext. Ran across this. Nothing like pulling a ahole move that endangers the public, all to generate revenue! If someone were to come 50 west bound made the turn by my vehicle they would have had quite the surprise. My question is if they had run into these idiots parked across their lane like this who would have faced the charges? MSP not hiring the brightest evidently! But hey they can sure generate the revenue!

I headed to OC Thur AM and saw the same thing with an unmarked car blocking a turn lane. My first impression was I could not turn down that street and then I noticed that was not true, he was just blocking the turn lane to run radar..

Stupidest thing I have seen and totally agree with the author.

There may have been good reason for this. Did you stop and ask?

From viewing your picture (taken no doubt while stopped) if the "someone were to come west bound" it is apparent LEO and you were highly visible, before the approach. You fools blame LEO for not putting an immediate stop to all speeders and then blame LEO for doing nothing but looking for revenue without knowing what they were actually doing. IMO it is a given cars slow way down spotting Cop cars, ready to rev their engines.

They need to be suspended.

8 MSP were lined up on 50 past Willard's yesterday.

Call the Easton MSP Barrack (410-822-3101) and ask for the TROOP COMMANDER, Capt. Black, and send this picture to his telephone and I bet you never see this again. Bet you get a response soon and action.

Was the other vehicle possibly already in that position when the officer arrived and he parked as he did to protect any passengers in the other vehicle? You must be living a miserable life always trying to find someone doing something wrong.

I hope for MSP sake these two are rookies right out of the academy. Any one else showing this much carelessness should be disciplined immediately. The problem is though this is far from the first time troopers, and police in general, have done arrogant and reckless maneuvers such as this. And then they whine when the public treats them less than god-like? They are endangering public safety and should be punished like anyone else.

I do not see any emergency lights activated on the state vehicle.

Yeah right. Why do you think they are doing this unnecessary mess. It’s BECAUSE OF Brent Black. If the Troopers don’t stop enough cars, he makes them, through the Barrack Commander, write a performance improvement plan each and every day to document exactly what they have done each day. He is pressing Troopers so hard for stats, so that he can look good, in hopes of getting promoted to Major. Wasn’t that long ago he was running around telling everyone that “Bill knows who I am and is going to promote me”. Bill is William Pallozzi, Colonel of MSP. Apparently, he feels comfortable enough to call him by his first name. Ask any Trooper, Brent Black is hated and only worried about himself.

They do this all the time. Usually they are in the other lane catching people heading towards Ocean City. This should be illegal to block a roadway.

1:12 - Really!! Putting an end to speeding immediately is all we complain about an then complain about collecting revenue? Sounds like you are just trolling. I read the blog frequently. What I interpret is use the police wisely and not just for revenue enhancement (ie running radar all the time). That is very different. But then you trolls hear/see what you want to hear/see. I personally feel they should have an unmarked traffic division to catch people when they are least expecting. This would really help with the aggressive driving.

But they are trained for this

I hope nobody slams into them MAJOR LAWSUIT..)

Why didn't some of you "bad asses" stop and make them move? Easier to be a keyboard genius huh......LOL They are simply doing there job!

" I personally feel they should have an unmarked traffic division to catch people when they are least expecting. This would really help with the aggressive driving."

Have you made your personal feelings known to the higher ups in the MSP - or do you do as hundreds of others do - just write it on a blog for non LEO?

Sounds like you’ve written a few of those plans yourself! Go get another donut.

They have had unmarked cars since forever, even using commercial vehicles, farm vehicles, SUV's, sports cars, you name it. If they were in plain sight and actually patrolled people would see them and slow down. But that is not their goal. Their goal is to hide and catch people in the act so they can write tickets and collect revenue.

It's about money, not safety. They simply refuse to address aggressive driving except when it involves speeding, which they label aggressive driving anyway.

And yet these same speed cops commit the very same infractions that they write tickets for. Do as I say, not as I do.

They may slow down upon seeing a cop car but not "way down" unless they were going 80 or something. Your whole comment is just plain stupid.

Response: I have done this in the past. I vividly remember doing this when I personally witnessed not one radar trap, not two radar traps, but an astounding (3) radar traps set-up between Pittsville and the RT. 90 bridge exit. I asked for the Berlin dispatchers name to - and requested for them to launch an immediate query as to the where-abouts of all the MD State Police resources.

Citizens, citizens, citizens, you don't realize the effect that the last filed POTUS had on you, even though you disliked him. It's a subliminal thing. Wake up, we have a great president now. Enjoy life and the days ahead. Be respectful of everyone, the past is behind us. We no longer have o bow to some dummy and go by his last eight years of brainwashing. Spent time with family, we are back on track. It reminds me of the 60's now, love and peace. You can even smoke dope without fear. How good can it get.

I have seen them shooting pictures here lately. I drive 55 mph on cruise at 4.30 pm weekdays and traffic passes me like I am sitting still. I do not have a problem with these guys doing there job.

Anonymous said...

I've never been a fan of law enforcement because let's be honest a lot of these guys can't handle the little bit of power and authority this job gives them. In saying that I will give them respect for putting the uniform on and willingly go out and try to maintain order in today's society. It doesn't matter what law enforcement does it will never be right or good enough. Some people today just can't be satisfied or find any peace in life

Why would you stop and ask. If you look at how they are positioned, and if a vehicle would be traveling toward that stop sign, the vehicle would have to cross over to opposing oncoming traffic at an intersection. Very unsafe. A reason our agency called them the brown clowns. No need to be anonymous.

What does Brent Black have to do with two troopers sitting on the side of the road? I think you are a disgruntaled state employee. Y

I saw this one day last week. It almost caused an accident. We were getting onto 50 Westbound but the car ahead of us was coming out of Main St Ext and was getting on 50 Eastbound. About the time he was going around the police vehicles sitting in his lane a car on 50 eastbound was turning left onto Main Street ext. The car stopped in the turn lane and thankfully there was no traffic because now the poor person trying to get onto 50 had limited vision because of the car trying to turn was in his way.

yeah it's all about safety right? the kops are here to protect us right? that's why they put everyone in danger! go ahead tell me how wonderful they are and not to bother calling them when I need them. Well been on this planet over 60 yrs and have never had the need to call anyone to come take a report! when seconds count they are never around! lackeys for the state who do nothing but generate revenue!

I have seen them in a bucket truck. It has gotten way out of hand. Police officers wonder why the public has drifted away in support. It is acts like these that anger the public. The hypocrisy has no bounds. They fly by with a cell phone up to their ear yet if you did that you would be cited. They need to obey the the law if they wish to enforce the law. I saw a Sheriff's Deputy hiding behind a tree trying to get seat belt violators now that is crazy. It was a few years ago. I just do not get it.

Anonymous said...

So, let me get this straight, Brent Black is hounding Troopers to stop more cars and getting on them for lack of production yet he has stopped less than 100 cars in his entire career and has been a “do nothing” Trooper hiding in specialized divisions his whole career. Sounds about right. Typical MSP. Those that have never done anything holding others accountable to standards that they themselves could never meet.

1:04 I am prior law enforcement and I don't approve of troopers, police etc talking on cell phones while drivind, driving fast just because they can, but I do believe in traffic enforcement. I watch people driving entirely to fast these days. I'm not talking about 10 MPH over either. texting and talking on cell phones (distracted driving) is an issue that needs to be enforced. Some people still just don't get it! But troopers are the most guilty of feeling like they are above the law.

He stopped me twice for not wearing my seat belt years ago....cocky as hell.
