Trump, who has in the past appeared to change positions on tougher gun laws, took a firm stance in the tweet, and issued a warning if Republicans come up short at the polls.

Stevens was appointed by Jimmy Carter; should be sufficient clarification about his mindset?
Lifetime appointments worked well when everyone was dead by 50, give or take. I'm suggesting 17 year terms, and pension at half-pay average. President could extend them 5 years without Senate approval. No extension if they are older than 55 when appointed.
Trump needs to have the US Marshals ready to arrest any lawmaker that says they want to take gun away, they are violating their oath of office, and are treasonous.
(oath they take is to uphold the constitution of the US)
