Man Pulls Daughter out of School Early for Deer Hunting Season

Texas hunter did not let school get in the way of taking his daughter hunting at the height of deer hunting season.

Jeff Pavlock of Rosenberg posted to Facebook a screenshot of his 12-year-old daughter’s attendance sheet stating that his daughter would be leaving school early to partake in deer hunting season.

“I put down 'headed to go put the smack down on a monster buck' … That’s the way we do it here in Texas,” Pavlock told KPRC:

Pavlock’s post went viral on social media after he published it Tuesday. More than 80,000 people shared his Facebook photo as of Saturday afternoon.

I used to take my son out of school early for deer season also. As long as his grades were good and he was not getting in trouble. No big deal.

Odd that some have a problem with this practice. They don't mind kids leaving school to go score crack or sell drugs to their homies on the corner but they have a problem with kids being out of school to go hunting? Shows the liberal idiocy.

Also, do you peeps have a problem because the student happens to be a girl instead of a boy? Hmmmm. Interesting question that deserves an answer.

Deer hunting is more important than school anyway.Duh.

Liberals what parents punished for doing this under "Child Endangerment" laws. Hunting is dangerous.

I lived in a county where the first day of deer season was a day off for everybody in schools.

In the country in PA, schools were always closed for at least the first day of buck season, and some for longer. It's a different life style in the country !!!

Who the hell “don’t mind if kids leave school to go score some crack”? That is the lamest argument I have seen in a while.

I have noting bad to say about a father spending quality time with his children. If the child is struggling in school I would ask the father to also spend time with the child and his/her studies. If a father shows concern with his childrens life there is NOTHING to complain about and he will be more likely to have a better relationship with that child. No problem here.

My parents would let my brother and I skip school and we would go to qualifying at Dover Downs when NASCAR was there in June. Just the one day though. Nothing wrong with pulling your child out of school for something like hunting, NASCAR or other special days. Just don't do it alot and be responsible.....make sure your child gets what they need to get done done at school.
