Maryland says it won’t provide voter data to Trump election panel

WASHINGTON — Officials in Maryland say they will not be handing over the voter data requested by a commission set up by President Donald Trump to investigate alleged voter fraud.

Administrator of the Maryland State Board of Elections Linda Lamone said in a July 3 letter that sharing access to Maryland’s voter registration lists and other information requested by the commission is prohibited by state law.

Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh in a July 3 statement went even further, calling the request of voter information “repugnant.”

They should launch a federal investigation of voter fraud in every state and imprison guilty officials.

Drain the MD swamp.

Because the state hasn't purged the voter registration list in over 20 years. It's a total embarrassment and cluster.

Are they afraid the truth might come out?

955 I'm with you. There's something under that hood they don't want discovered. Maryland needs to end this corruption NOW! We look like morons to the rest of the country. I'm ready to blow this pop stand because I'm tired of living in such a backward state.

Repugnant? I don't see any GOOD reason to not disclose this information. I guess the states refusing do care about voter fraud, just not the way the rest of us do.

Linda has her taxpayer funded job FOR LIFE and has been at it for over 20 years. How dare the President of the United States of America attempt to impose accountability!

Right! They have something to hide!

Maryland has a lot to hide - especially in Baltimore and Annapolis - where the dumnocrat votes outnumbered the legally registerable number!

All states should open up all voting info. If they won't, that tells me they are doing things they shouldn't and it should be forced.

All of the States should refuse this request for State information.
The States use to be free from an evil over-bearing Federal Government.
The Feds have absolutely no legitimate need for State Voter information.

Doesn't anyone understand how a Constitutional Republic is supposed to work anymore?
Anyone?

I am sure that everyone who has made a comment would feel the exact same way if a democratic President had demanded the same info.

Even Kris Kobach (R), the Secretary of State for Kansas and the vice-chair of the Presidential Commission on Election Integrity will not provide his state data to the commission.

Most states have laws against releasing ANY information regarding Social Security. That includes the last 4 digits of your number.

We KNOW you're hiding fraud in the Maryland voters registry...Ellen Sauerbrey sure had an apple out of that bag...anyone else remember this?

I guess thw other 41 states not giving up voting records are morons too?

These voter fraud claims are BS, just a tool to suppress votes

As a matter of fact, 1207, yes! If there's nothing to hide then let it all out. Don't be a tool.

This is why Donald Trump was voted president. This nation is tired of politics as usual and ALL the lies and illegal activity that defines our government. The media has always hid the corruptness of the election and everyone knows that this has been going on for years. I hope Trump keeps this in the news and continue to demand accountability.

I am 63 years old, and have lived in 5 states as a registered voter in each one. As I moved from one to the other, I never "unregistered" from any of them. I guess if I was a dishonest person, with these days' early voting, I could take 3 weeks off and go out voting in each one of them. On the other hand, someone who knew my addresses in those states could do the same without my knowledge. In fact, those renters who moved in to my past residences were probably mailed out my voter information packets before each election.

Sharing voter information between states could be in need of extremely high security, but it really needs to be cleaned up ASAP, and with all the security it deserves. Just a simple name vs. address search could bring up a lot of matches validating more investigation. Contacting these people personally I'm sure would be met with appreciation.

Maryland - corrupt

Then President Trump and Congress needs to cut off Federal Funding to Maryland and all states who refuse to turn over voter data!

You and I can pay for voter registration lists by district so why not give the records to the Fed govt? Only those states with something to hide would refuse. We'll see what consequences MD will get and deserve.
