BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Community members in Baltimore are calling for a ceasefire in the midst of what’s on pace to be the most murder-filled year the city has ever seen.
The number of homicides shot up to 344 in 2015, the year Freddie Gray was fatally injured in police custody, and 318 people were killed last year.
So far in 2017, more than 185 people have been victims of homicide.
Before 2015, Baltimore had not exceeded 300 annual homicides for decades.

I hope it works.
Sounds like war talk ,typical with the type of Baltimore leaders. They , the leaders are always looking for a way for someone to bail them out. Anyone caught using a gun should be given jail time for attempted murder. Baltimore is the cesspool of America , this so called cease fire won't work , they will laugh in your face while they destroy any and everything. They should tell them "if your brown you will go down."
Im sure they arent listening..
Maybe they can visit their local dennys instead...
'Charm City' - 'nuf said!
Good luck with that.
How about no democrats for 72 years!!
Maybe BLM will riot if anyone is shot?
Lots of yapping, no one home.
Too funny – please stop killing for 72 hours and then after 72 hours you can resume the action of thugs shooting thugs. Brilliant!
Oh OK here we, hey guys wait a minute everybody take a time out for few so we can get caught up at the coroner office. LMAO who do they actually think they are dealing with
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Let's give them Room to destroy our city and that what you saw
72 hour time out, then open fire. Bang Bang
Even thugs need a vacation from thugging
Now that's brilliant
Let me preface by saying two things: I'm 73 years old, and I grew up in Baltimore.
I remember summer YMCA programs that were offered back in the day in downtown Baltimore.
"Read Ten Books This Summer"
"Learn To Swim"
"Be a Volunteer This Summer", and many more.
Today I see the program is, "Don't Kill Anyone This Weekend".
What the hell has happened to us? I may be an old geezer, but still something seems very, very wrong here.
What a cesspool of a city my beloved Baltimore has become.
Mayor Donald Schaefer must be spinning...
