Delaware to 'welcome home' Joe and Jill Biden

Vice President Joe Biden is coming home to Delaware this week.

Friday, Biden will take the Amtrak train--as he's done all these years first as senator and later as vice president--into the train station that bears his name in Wilmington with the Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden.

Delaware will celebrate the Bidens' homecoming with a party at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. Doors open at 1 p.m. The welcome rally kicks off a 2:30 p.m, with remarks expected from Governor-elect John Carney and Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki as well as Delaware's Congressional delegation.

"Though those us in Delaware know that Jill and Joe never really left, we want to this opportunity to show our love, admiration, and appreciation for all that they have done for us, our state, and our nation, throughout a lifetime of faithful public service," said an announcement for the event.
