Virginia Tech Offers Emotional Support, Safe Spaces for Students After Election

Donald Trump shocked the world by winning the presidential election, stunning the media and those in the political establishment with his victory. The day after, both Hillary Clinton and President Obama acknowledged the defeat and called for Americans to come together in support of the new President.

Virginia Tech, however, seems to think it’s students will need some extra hugs to help with that.

An email was allegedly sent out to all Tech students on Wednesday afternoon by a staff member with the title “Support & Community Today.” Shared on Twitter by Virginia State Senator Mark Obenshain, the email offered locations to community centers for students who might not be able to handle their emotions.

I have never, in all my 54 years on this planet, seen or heard a bigger generation of
pu***s. Get a job or go to class an educate yourselves in self reliance. We are doomed if these weak minded fools gain power.

VT is churning out soft sensitive democrats instead of real world Americans. Must be nice to live in a cloud and never face reality.

Give them all a trophy and send them home to mommy.

Dave T: Awwwwe. Can't handle the heat, then get out of the kitchen. I have lived through 8 miserable years under the leadership of a total goon, paying extra taxes, sizable penalties for not being able to afford Obamacare, and through what has been one of the worst economies in American history, and you think for one second I'm going to pity those who are disenfranchised because now we finally have elected a leader? Think twice.

I have blaming the Parents for years for being to liberal and not teaching responsibility, politeness and training their children on maturing and what it means along with how to deal with different opinions of others is just as worthy as theirs. This trash labeled protesting which is rioting should be quelled and not allowed. Also those, such as Soros, Al Sharpton and others, backing this behavior is treason. They should be held responsible to the max.

Salisbury University is sending the same BS to all its students and faculty, too. Talking about counseling and all the other nonsense. Signed by Janet Eschbach herself. Just a bunch of pacifiers and idiot talk. Liberal BS that's placated loopy kids that are never allowed to grown up. A generation of Peter Pans who are spoiled and self serving. So don't think it's just big universities that are doing this nonsense.

For me personally, I feel like this: If these COLLEGE AGE kids can't handle a person other than the candidate they supported being elected to President then they should not be in college period.

The cost of college is through the roof. Many parents are working part-time jobs and making many sacrifices so their children can attend college. This is a privilege and these kids need to understand in no uncertain terms if they are this emotionally challenged and lack the emotional intelligence to "face another day", then they really shouldn't be enrolled in college. Perhaps the best way to help these emotionally crippled children would be to let them find jobs in the real world facing real problems then they would have a better handle on how to function and figured things out without the need of save spaces, coloring books, pacifiers, or blankets.

There was a time if a kid was found sucking their thumb in schoolthe kids would really bully him, or if a girl was crying, she would get laughed at. I don't agree with bullying for any reason, but these college age kids are acting like babies not grown young adults.
Instead of college, put them in an institution for the mentally challenged. No disrespect intended for those who truly have mental issues. My point is these kids don't belong in college taking up space and wasting others' money to behave like babies.

It appears everyone here is painting with a broad brush concerning the students. Granted the leadership and faculty in most U.S. colleges and universities have long ago gone full-out Left Wing, but not all students have bought what the colleges are feeding them. Don't believe that? Just look at the letter and see where all the "campus spaces" are located. I know students a VTech and they'd never visit any of those groups, they have much better things to do . . . like school work and evening jobs to pay their school bills.

If you need a safe space you are not employable.

At 12:19-Right with you man, One year older and 100% in agreement. When this generation becomes the mainstream "working class" in this country we are doomed. They are a useless bunch of "sissies" (trying to keep it clean) who have absolutely no work ethic or common sense whatsoever. The once great America as we know it is done.

maybe if they go smash some more windows they will feel better

Need to buck up cupcakes. Honest day's work for an honest wage mentality is coming. THINKING your piece of paper (degree) means an automatic high 5 figure salary is about ready to go POOF!!!!

Hard work, smart planning and reap the future rewards.

Act like an @ss now and expect things immediately will only make you look foolish and have nothing.
