"After two years of disappointing results, Louisiana's larger voucher schools are starting to improve," the Times-Picayune reports.

Two-thirds of the private schools that participate in the Louisiana Scholarship Program are meeting or exceeding academic expectations. That's up from less than half last year.

Of the 27 schools that had their scores released, 18 saw improvement from last year.

Democrats (and the teachers unions) are so adamantly against these programs.. I wonder why?

Could it be to keep certain portions of our population enslaved to government assistance?

(Sorry previous rant. a phone auto correct error )
I keep telling you. I'm on board with a Maryland schools voucher system. it's the only way to save the school system from the grips of an Orwellian tyrannical tax sucking failure of a system. Yes unions are terrified. Puts control were it belongs with us. Allows us to have better direct control of the checkbook.

And these schools can decide who to accept and they can reject kids they don't want like special education students or behavior problems. Of course their results would be better than a public school who has to accept everyone.
