Friends of the Library Book Sale Raises over $5,500

The Friends of Wicomico Public Libraries Semi-Annual Book Sale held Friday, November 20th thru Sunday, November 22nd at the Downtown Library was a huge success with record breaking sales of over $5,500, exceeding all other previous book sales.

All proceeds from the book sale support the Friends of the Libraries efforts to promote the Library’s mission to support education, enrich lives and build community.

The Friends of Wicomico Public Libraries provide vital support for the Library by presenting programming that reflects our diverse community, raising awareness of the Library as a public education provider and advocating for a modern, community focused library space.

Library Executive Director Andrea Berstler commented, “The Friends of the Library are delighted with the continued growth of these events. The support of our community for the work of the Friends and the Library increases every year. We could not be more pleased.”

Wicomico Public Libraries are located in Downtown Salisbury, the Centre at Salisbury, in Pittsville, and the Library Bookmobile. Wicomico Public Libraries offer numerous resources such as free Internet access, a variety of classes and events, and an online eBooks library, and it engages the community through education, economic development and through various community events.
