Bravery??? WTF! It was brave of that garbage man to pick up my garbage those days it snowed. Do they get medals for their bravery those days??

And the award goes to..................Hoppes !!!!!! for sticking with the good ole boys and not getting rid of the bad liabilities. Just because they are close to retirement doesn't mean demote them and drag out their duties. I don't want to pay for their pension when half of their careers they abused the system and only ever got a slap on the wrist. Why drag it out anyway. Their brains and livers are to damaged for them to do anything other than keep a bar stool warm.

I really can't say what these guys have done to receive a medal. I will say this , since 911 this crap has gotten way out of hand . Everyone in most fire depts. are a hero for doing their job they were trained for. This would be the equivalent of giving everyone in the armed forces a medal for doing their job they are paid for.
Oh well , it is what it is BS at it's best.

I wonder what the award is for secretly photographing the inside of a deceased mans home and providing it to the local news channel for entertainment and slander purposes

I am waiting for the local regular citizen to get a medal for saving a SFD employees life from alcohol poisoning or drugs. Oh yeah...that would be the ER doctors...... they don't get medals.

Hoppes and Darrin Scott should have been fired for hiring Darrin Scott's son. This is proof of the Good ole Boy System and the corruption that goes on in the Salisbury Fire Department. Scott's son has hardly no experience and shouldn't have been hired. There were members from Salisbury with much more experience that should have been hired. Darrin Scott is in charge of testing for promotions and hiring new employees. He has been known to teach the test if you know what I mean.

Fire them BOTH!

Do other city departments give their employees medals for just showing up to do their jobs?
