NEW HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CLEANS UP BAD LANGUAGE AT HIS SCHOOL

A Speech Every American High School Principal Should Give.

By Dennis Prager .

To the students and faculty of our high school:

I am your new principal, and honored to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people.

I would like to apprise you of some important changes coming to our school. I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that have dominated public education in America have worked against you, against your teachers and against our country.

First, this school will no longer honor race or ethnicity. I could not care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow or white. I could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian or European, or if your ancestors arrived here on the Mayflower or on slave ships. The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity -- your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is American.

This is an American public school, and American public schools were created to make better Americans. If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial or religious identity through school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity, race and non-American nationality-based celebrations. They undermine the motto of America , one of its three central values -- E pluribus unum, "from many, one." And this school will be guided by America 's values. This includes all after-school clubs. I will not authorize clubs that divide students based on any identities. This includes race, language, religion, sexual orientation or whatever else may become in vogue in a society divided by political correctness.

Your clubs will be based on interests and passions, not blood, ethnic, racial or other physically defined ties. Those clubs just cultivate narcissism -- an unhealthy preoccupation with the self -- while the purpose of education is to get you to think beyond yourself. So we will have clubs that transport you to the wonders and glories of art, music, astronomy, languages you do not already speak, carpentry and more. If the only extracurricular activities you can imagine being interested in are those based on ethnic, racial or sexual identity, that means that little outside of yourself really interests you.

Second, I am uninterested in whether English is your native language. My only interest in terms of language is that you leave this school speaking and writing English as fluently as possible. The English language has united America 's citizens for over 200 years, and it will unite us at this school. It is one of the indispensable reasons this country of immigrants has always come to be one country. And if you leave this school without excellent English language skills, I would be remiss in my duty to ensure that you will be prepared to successfully compete in the American job market. We will learn other languages here -- it is deplorable that most Americans only speak English -- but if you want classes taught in your native language rather than in English, this is not your school.

Third, because I regard learning as a sacred endeavor , everything in this school will reflect learning's elevated status. This means, among other things, that you and your teachers will dress accordingly. Many people in our society dress more formally for Hollywood events than for church or school. These people have their priorities backward. Therefore, there will be a formal dress code at this school.

Fourth, no obscene language will be tolerated anywhere on this school's property -- whether in class, in the hallways or at athletic events. If you can't speak without using the f -word, you can't speak. By obscene language I mean the words banned by the Federal Communications Commission, plus epithets such as "Nigger," even when used by one black student to address another black, or "bitch," even when addressed by a girl to a girlfriend. It is my intent that by the time you leave this school, you will be among the few your age to instinctively distinguish between the elevated and the degraded, the holy and the obscene.

Fifth, we will end all self-esteem programs. In this school, self-esteem will be attained in only one way -- the way people attained it until decided otherwise a generation ago -- by earning it. One immediate consequence is that there will be one valedictorian, not eight.

Sixth, and last, I am reorienting the school toward academics and away from politics and propaganda. No more time will be devoted to scaring you about smoking and caffeine, or terrifying you about sexual harassment or global warming. No more semesters will be devoted to condom wearing and teaching you to regard sexual relations as only or primarily a health issue... There will be no more attempts to convince you that you are a victim because you are not white, or not male, or not heterosexual or not Christian. We will have failed if any one of you graduates this school and does not consider him or herself inordinately fortunate -- to be alive and to be an American.

Now, please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of our country. As many of you do not know the words, your teachers will hand them out to you.

Excellent speech, could we please make this speech a requirement for all principals in Wicomico County this September. Thanks, Ron

This is the way it should be in all American schools!

Ok Parkside, Bennett and Wi-Hi, Mardela, Delmar, can you follow this lead. Very good way to start out new school year. Love it.

Poor guy will loose that job or be sued for telling the truth.
MSM will crucify someone for speaking truth.
That is why all are all over Trump. He speaks the truth and doesn't care what the bought politicians and the MSM say.
It is a time for all true Americans to be strong and stand up for our country. We are loosing it to socialism at a rapid pace. At this pace it will not remain a country as we know it and the current administration will have won. Most don't recognize nor will they be ready for the outcome of civil war and the loss of freedom as we know it. At some point we will be like a Greece and it will all come tumbling down. The government will not be able to continue to support the freeloaders on the backs of the middle class. Sad but true. I have great fear for my grandchildren and the future they will endure.

8:21 is correct but I will add that it applies to many other states as well!

8:54 you are correct. In Wicomico county this would not be allowed by any principal. Everyone always stands up and says what a great idea this is, but no one will ever demand higher discipline in our schools.

I just hope it's true! Maybe someone else in the education departments will take heed.

I see this as being nice and want to see it succeed. I showed my wife and she doesn't think it will actually happen. I decided to read this to my 4 children; 2 in school, 1 dropout, and 1 in college. The overall feedback is that they would like for this to be true. Surprisingly, my dropout had the most to say. He thinks that would have been a great school to attend. He says that she would have graduated from a school with these values instead of having to deal with all of the societal-extras that don't matter being forced on the students. I've not been in school for decades, so I don't know what is really going on other than what my kids have told me. From this, I've learned all about contract-students. This principal didn't address this area of concern. I doubt you'll have a clue as to what I'm talking about, but believe it that the no-child-left-behind rule has created this need for an agreement to be made between disruptive students and the faculty to pass them so long as they do their best to not disturb their classmates. I learned about this after the fact, that my son was under contract to pass so long as he complied with attending the class quietly and being allowed to sleep through it or just skipping it all together. He passed one of the classes with a 31. He had 22 absents which he made up for with 3 days in summer school. We were aware of some of the absences, but were never visit by any truancy officer. I want to write so much more, but I don't want to think about this headache any more. I do want to bring this to the attention of the public so they can be aware that this really does go on all without the parents knowing anything about it. Furthermore, if you do find out about it and want the school to teach your child as they should be, there is nothing you can do since it is up to the teacher. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. My son is the same way. I thought you should know. God bless you all.

For the record, every school in Wicomico County starts the day with the Pledge of Allegiance. I doubt you do in your workplace.

You can lead a Horticulture, but you can't make her think, 937. God bless you, too.

I work in a Wicomico county school. They do pretty much the opposite of whats in the speach. No way it would happen here. The kids run the school. Its getting worse. As for the pledge, so many kids refuse to say or even stand and theres nothing to do about it.

Well I'm certainly glad to hear that 10:01 AM - how about the rest of the list?

Anonymous said...

It should be given in all schools!

Good luck with that!!
