7:34, Crime was reported completely different back on those days. Now, very little is actually reported and logged. Now they tell you to call your insurance company and there's no investigation. Oh, by the way. If you want that information, you go look it up.

how did the person of interest acquire a concealed weapons permit ?

Why can't our upstanding leaders tell us the truth ? We need honest leaders with common sense not this collage nonsense trying to mislead the taxpayers that's right we really don't matter

where do we look it up? If crime was reported differently back in those days, how do we know it is up now? Please explain.

yeah, go ask "they" to explain. "They" has all the bs on everything

Please tell me how any Police or public figure stops such an incident. A person decides to rob or harm an occupant of any home in Salisbury or Wicomico County. They don't call and notify the police that they're coming. They just do what they do best and thats cause trouble. Salisbury does not have borders with criminal check points or a police officer on every corner. There are elements of society that are full time criminals and are free to work their craft. Many with lengthy criminal records. Free to roam because judges repeatedly let them free to commit more crimes. So before you blame public officials; take a look at the bigger picture. Society in general is more lawless than ever and Salisbury is no exception.

10:06 I mean Jimmy. Look your approach to crime is failing. You and Barb should be fired for false stats. It is a fact you and your command have played with the stats Barb. More feet on the ground less people sitting at the morning comstat joking and laughing at your pathetic troops. They are so micro managed they don't shit without word from above. Well until you two are out there all night fighting crime let your cops be cops. Barb you sucked in New York and suck here. You and Jimmy have a lot in common

10:06 is 100% correct.

10:06 AM - well put.
Our crime problem doesn't begin with law enforcement or the mayor's office. I'd go through the list of why anywhere has crime, but it would bore 99% of the readers here.

11:19 There is a problem when you are conrinually in the top 10% per capita per year. Padding stats do not help anything. Miscoding U.C.R. for the sake of appearance is unethical at best.

The fact is Duncan and Liarton are no good. Together they are a total F.U.B.R. They are failing in maintaining the facts. They are failing in recruiting tops prospects for the P.D. There needs to be some changes. In this tough economy they can not get quality applicants. That says it all.

2 years ago I actually was looking into how the raw number were recorded for research. I wasn't even interested in crime rates or anything like that, just location data.

I genuinely do not know what you mean by things changing. Could you elaborate?

In addition, my house was burglarized two years ago and there was a full police investigation (they actually caught the 2 criminals and I got my property back) so I don't know how your experiences line up but it was certainly not true in my case that they told me to "call your insurance company and there's no investigation."

The only realistic way to stop the increase in crime is a strong public policy that refuses to allow Eastern Shore counties to be a dumping ground for homeless criminals.
