OCEAN CITY POLICE INVESTIGATING DEATH OF 38-YEAR-OLD MALE

(August 16, 2014) – On August 16, 2014, at approximately 3 a.m. Ocean City Communications received a call reporting an adult male had been located unconscious and unresponsive inside a hotel room in the area of 4701 Coastal Highway, in Ocean City.

First responders from the Ocean City Police and Fire Departments initiated emergency lifesaving procedures on the victim and transported him to Atlantic General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 3:45 a.m. The victim has been identified as Jorge Troca, 38, of Lyndhurst, NJ.

An investigation into the cause, manner, and circumstances of the death is currently underway by OCPD investigators. At this time, the OCPD Criminal Investigation Division has categorized this death as suspicious. A comprehensive investigation will be completed before a final determination is made.

An examination is currently scheduled for August 17 by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Maryland in Baltimore.
